Jaylen Brown reportedly turned down four-year, $80 million offer from Celtics
It is rare that players gamble on themselves. With the money being thrown at them, it is tough to say no and wait for a better offer. This is really true when there is still a year left on the deal.
Jaylen Brown did just that. He reportedly turned donw a 4 year, $80 million extension from the Boston Celtics. This was not enough for Brown.
The $20 million a year average is something he feels he can top. His view is that he is one of the top players in the NBA at a premium position. In spite of a down year last season, Brown feels that he will get more than the $20 AAV as one of the top restricted free agents.
With Boston a team looking to transition, it will be interesting if they hold onto Brown. Free agents tend to be on the move in the NBA making it tough to build a foundation.
