Castillo's 10 K's lead Reds past Cubs, 6-3 | Reds-Cubs Game Highlights 7/15/19

avatar

The Reds have once again been able to defeat their division leaders after going on the road to defeat the Cubs 6-3. While Castillo dropped 10 strikeouts the offense was doing their part to move the men around the bags with the majority of the team having at least 1 hit.

The Reds continue to sit at 5.5 games back from the division leading Cubs despite their losing series to the Indians. While that leaves them in last place for the NLC they will be going on a bit of division match up with this series being followed by series against the Cardinals and Brewers. It'd be nice to see another little run before going out west.

Condensed Game: Luis Castillo racked up 10 strikeouts in six innings and the Reds scored five unanswered runs in a 6-3 win

I am a Cubs fan. Castillo is filthy, I didn't need to watch the video, lol. What do you say him in a trade involving Schwarber? Kyle is from the area, would hit 40+ bombs there a year and have a fairly easy left field to play, lol?

I don't know I'd take it if I were the Reds. They just aren't deep enough at SP to make any moves that aren't adding. I'm hoping we become buyers and pick up some help there and in the pen.

I thought back in the day when they still had Chapman, and just signed Iglesias they should have made a play for Puig and Cespedes. Make your core of Cuban studs, and make your organization like the Dodgers in the late 40's and 50's as the place where all African-American players wanted to play because of the core of they developed of course with Jackie Robinson, but later on Newcombe, Campanella and others that followed. They would be the organization from then on that Cuban native players would want to play for. BTW that trade offer was a joke, Schwarber by himself clearly wouldn't be enough, lol. They could toss in Happ and would have to send some pitching with also, Happ did play at the University of Cincy, you'd have two "hometown guys," at least, but yeah Castillo watching him has a very bright future if he stays healthy and can improve here and there as time goes on.

Haha, sure. You have a freaking pitcher hitting .270 and with 3 SB? WTF? I saw Lorenzen with a SB in the box score thinking you must have called up a position player from AAA named Lorenzen, no way is that the pitcher? Sure enough it is. I shouldn't have assumed the Reds were dumping they are a real thorn in the side of the teams in the division for sure, would be fun to see them compete this year for it.

It seems that Reds have the Cubs number this year. They're keeping close on the standings. Regards champ!

I can't say I fully get this team. We can go toe to toe with the Cubs but then get swept by the Pirates in the next series. I'm not going to say a trip to the playoffs won't be happening for this team but at this rate it might be a call at the bag.

Hi there Bossman!

I've heard you're dealing with flagging and stuff.

May I suggest looking into @steemrule and @lostwings acc as they are farming and self voting every comment. I gave them a warning and flagged a few but just can't deal with it on my own.

Thank you in advance.
