Lunchtime run: Thanks, weather gods

I just finished a 7.096km running that lasted about 0hh:43mm:32.0ss !

I was lucky with the weather again today. Yesterday it was very windy and wet, but I had almost clear skies. It was still a bit cold, but you just layer up for that. I was doing the 30-20-10 intervals again. The first 8 minutes is a gentle jog and I resisted the temptation to chase after a guy who passed me. Keeping the speed down can be hard and I think I went a bit quicker than previously. I still needed to have two faster levels in reserve for the sprints. Quite a few people around on the cycle paths, but no mopeds today.

It was the usual up and down route to Fairlands Valley Park. The sprints went fairly well, even when they were uphill. I took the longer route around the lakes and must have been going quicker overall as I finished the sprints sooner. I jogged back to the outdoor gym for a few reps. I hardly ever see anyone else using it. I did see a group of runners up by the lakes, but there was little sign of anyone else using the changing rooms at work. Maybe the cooler weather is putting them off.

Podcasts today included Digital Planet, Science Weekly and Chasing Tone. Only feathered wildlife around with lots of geese by the lakes.

There are pacers at Letchworth parkrun this week, so I will try to get there, but it is likely to be muddy. I have still managed reasonable times there. If it is pouring with rain I may be put off, but people seem to turn up regardless. I have not actually done a parkrun in December before, so that would tick another box on Running Challenges.

I see entries are open for the Greenway Challenge half in May. I would like to do it again.

You have uploaded 65 running activities, and 21 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 21 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 150.47 kms at an average pace of roughly 6:01 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 6.135min/km!
Looks like you went a bit slower this time! Remember that it's important to take some rest days, and do some rehab / prehab / strength and conditioning training too! If you weren't intending to go slower, take a moment to listen to your body, and see if you need something. Check in with yourself!

Lucky you! It is cold as balls here with the wind. We are even getting some lake effect snow at times. I have been freezing in my office all day. I was sweating like a beast after my workout this morning though. I don't know if I will hit my 10k steps today or not...
