Lunchtime Run: Pushing up the daisies

I just finished a 7.024km running that lasted about 0hh:45mm:31ss !

The title is inspired by all the flowers coming up around now even though it still feels wintry. The weather was an improvement on yesterday at least. It was busy at the changing rooms before and after my run, but I did not have to wait too long for a cubicle. I went for the 30-20-10 intervals again. I have worked out how to download workouts onto my Garmin watch now. Looking at the stats I can get from the app I am wondering if I need to pay for what the Strava Summit packages offer.

I did my usual loop up around the lakes which involves a fair bit of uphill on the way out. Strava shows 'Grade Adjusted Pace' for the splits which can vary a fair bit from the measured speed, but gives some indication of how you are doing generally.

The average pace for this run is pretty slow for me, but then I took it very easy on the warmup and cooldown sections. I also spent longer than usual at the outdoor gym where I used more of the machines and then jogged back through the shopping precinct. That is a bit of a shortcut. Around 7 or 8 kilometres is about all I can manage in a lunch break when you add on the changing time.

I am still not back to full fitness, but I feel okay when I am running. I just think I could be going faster when I recover. I hope the training I am doing will mean I may even be quicker than before. I will get back to parkrun when I can. The Letchworth course will be a mudbath.

You have uploaded 97 running activities, and 31 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 31 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 219.16 kms at an average pace of roughly 6:00 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 6.48min/km!
Looks like you went a bit slower this time! Remember that it's important to take some rest days, and do some rehab / prehab / strength and conditioning training too! If you weren't intending to go slower, take a moment to listen to your body, and see if you need something. Check in with yourself!

I think by running - you are avoiding “pushing up the daisies“ for as long as possible!

Nobody gets to live forever, but quality of life is important. I feel really alive when my running is going well.

It is always good that you are able to get out and do it in the first place. My wife has been posting actifit posts lately and the other day she showed me a quote that said something like the only workout you regret is the one you didn't do or the one you skipped or something like that.

I don't like to miss a run. Weather is looking wet tomorrow, but I'll get out if I can. Even half an hour does some good and I soon warm up afterwards.

No snow here this winter yet, but there has been some up north. We just had hail today.
