With their recent defeat, Manchester City is in a crucial position to stay near against league leaders Liverpool FC where the Reds leads by nine points after twelve games. It's 3 games clear, hoping Liverpool will lose too albeit there are still 26 games remaining so 78 possible points is coming on the way.

Their loss against Liverpool was painful and that widen the lead. Liverpool is unbeaten in twelve games, 11 of those are wins with only one being drawn - a total of 34 points. This is a huge lead for them and is expected to win in the next games against Crystal Palace, Brighton, Everton, and Bournemouth - these four are currently placed at almost bottom of the standings.

Meanwhile Chelsea, who has won their last six Premier League matches is looking very good and in the zone. They were able to tally 26 points in 12 matches despite struggling in their first opening games including a tragic 4-0 loss against Manchester United. Their new coach Frank Lampard has been enjoying great success with the squad and is optimistic with the top guns present. Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount have been great young talents that have contributed to Chelsea's dominance upfront. It seems like they already moved on easily with Eden Hazard.

This will be a tough test for Manchester City and for Pep Guardiola as a manager. Even though City has been very successful in Premier League winning three straight titles, their Champions League run has been drastic. They weren't able to reach the final on those years. The ironic thing is that they were being knocked out by fellow Premier League teams Liverpool and Tottenham.

This will really be an important match for both squads and I'm expecting an exciting result. Both have been eager to win so they can contest the top spot against Liverpool.
