Oh Bollocks. What a Shocker.....but at least our other team Beat Tadcaster Albion 5-1 despite a power cut when the floodlights went out!

I've been putting this off but in the interests of fair and unbiased sports journalism, here is the match report from Australia when Leeds United took on Manchester United in front of 55000 spectators and came out the 4-0 losers.

Leeds were rubbish. Manchester United were slightly less rubbish, and they had Pogba who was playing out of his skin to try and look good in front of prospective buyers as he also hates Manchester and is looking for a transfer.

At the end of the day, the game wasn't important and meant nothing as it was only friendly for heaven's sake!

BUT....

We actually got 1 more yellow card than them, hence we won. Congratulations to Kalvin Phillips for that!

leeds manu.jpg

Here we see Kalvin Phillips leaving Pogba for dead (don't ask me where I found this pic! Sorry Mr Getty lol )

Meanwhile in Tadcaster, England....

at the i2i 'stadium' (2,000 Seats. 159 covered. Standing 100), the slightly tired, International contingent of players we left behind were playing a pre-season friendly against the mighty Tadcaster Albion who last season finished 4th from bottom in the Northern Premier League Division One North-West (no, me neither!)

Tadcaster, whose nickname is 'The Brewers' due to them being conveniently situated behind the famous John Smith's brewery, put out such a strong team that the Leeds United Official website had no idea who they were and therefore didn't show the team on their official match report! As for us, we had someone called 'trialist' in goal!

Tadcaster Albion 1 (Day 49)

Leeds United 5 (Edmondson 10, 64, 75, Clarke 20, Gotts 45)

Leeds: Trialist, Gotts, White, Davis, Alioski (Struijk 61), Jenkins, Klich, Temenuzhkov, Clarke, Costa (Mujica 61), Edmondson. Subs not used: Rae, Kenneh, Casey.

Sadly, this was live on LUFC TV for free and I missed it. The 'other' game had also been on but that was £7.99 to watch it so I didn't bother.

Speaking to a friend who actually went to the game with his dog, he said Leeds actually played really well with Jack Clarke, Helder Costa and the development squad player, Ryan Edmondson being the stand-out performers. If we had used this team to play Man. U we would have surely come away victorious!

Anyway, the match finished a few minutes early as there was a power cut and all the lights went off and as it was 9.30pm, it was a bit dark and no one could see the ball. Seriously, I kid you not!!

If @abh12345.sports wishes to watch the highlights of Leeds vs Man U, the only opportunity he will ever get to see Pogba again, he can do here

Meanwhile. Leeds have left Perth and have headed to Sydney for our second and final pre-season game of this tour against Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday 20th July (10:00am BST) at Bank West Stadium, Sydney.

No problems beating these. My forecast is 4-1 to Leeds :-)

Those 'highlights' you linked. Someone actually spent the time to find the 2 shots on target Leeds had and pad those into a 10 min video. Comedy :D

I know. I watched it! It was beyond dreadful and embarrassing! N doubt we sent the boys in business class as there is no way we could afford first class so they were jet-lagged is the only possible excuse I can offer!

On the Leeds website, they didn't even post a written match report lol....we are good at Social media ;-)

This, my friend, is an eminently sensible comment!

You're absolutely right. Something was amiss. In all seriousness, I too expected a much better fight from Leeds, and the only sensible excuse I could think of was that we hadn't had long enough to adjust to the time differences and were still a little jet-lagged. Man U had already been there a week and played a game previously. Obviously, Man U is still a top Prem team but we should have given them a better game. We were very poor, to be honest!

I guess we will see what sort of performance they put in against Western Sydney Wanderers tomorrow!

Leedsunited defense is shaky and they lacks confidence with the ball, the midfielders were not able to distributes the ball properly between them and the attackers . The team needs to work more on ball control and accurate passes @leedsunited

Youre right, but our main strength last season was distribution, especially on the wings. I think maybe we were a little over awed by the occassion and our changes in defence after we lost Pontus Janssen ut still sad we couldnt show what we can do!

We hate them for robbing us in 1973 European Cup winners cup final. The ref in that match was later banned for match fixing but UEFA refused to investigate that final and refused to let it be replayed.
Not till 00/01 when we beat them in the Champions League at Elland Road and then got a draw at the San Siro......we need those amazing European night back but need to get back in the Premier League first lol

Thanks mate :-)

The good news for Leeds is that they have Bristol City first game of the season and as someone who follows City quite closely (my old man is a City fan) I know that they never do well against Leeds!

£7.99 to watch a single match is a bit too much....here in Portugal they wouldn't sell anything with those prices

that's the price to watch it on stadium here(it depends on the match of course) but the difference of prices or monthly fees between Portugal and even Spain is huuuuuuge....they pay much much much more than us.

Ridiculous price for a friendly ! Just because it was against Man U. At games in UK the prices change depending on who the opposition is but you can't buy a ticket to any game at Leeds for less than 30euros and we not even in the Premiership !
