Germany To Help Esports Althletes With Their Visa Process

(Edited)

It may be easier for athletes from outside of the EU to compete and live in the country of Germany. This would make things easier for players who want to live and play in the country. This law could come into effect as early as 2020 and would allow players who are over the age of 16 to apply for a visa application. In turn this would make life easier for players who want to spend time playing in Europe.

That is one of the big differences of esprots than traditional sports. Every big esports game is played around the world. Athletes in the Olympics and certain sports are used to travelling overseas for their events but when it comes to the NFL and other big american leagues players can stay in North America and compete with the best in the world. When it comes to esports there are major tournaments around the world. Being able to travel and live an another country can help the players a lot. Look at the Overwatch team which has teams from Canada, the US, Europe and Asia all in the same league.

Being able to play for a country that you do not live in and have the freedom to live there is the opportunity arises can really help give opportunities for people who want to get into esports. There are a lot of big tournaments in Europe and this can really help non-european players get involved.

Yes, this would greatly facilitate a stay in a foreign country. I think this is a big plus for the promotion of sports and there will be many comers.

Definitely a great news! I can say this is a great win for the Esports industry. The age bracket for E-Sport gamers are generally low compared to other sporting events. I'd say 15-20 years old were some (more) of the players playing for their respective club.

I haven't seen much of Germans playing for Dota 2 Professional Leagues.
