Sri Lanka Officially Declares Esports To Be A Real Sport

In Sri Linka it is official. The ministry of sport has declared that esports are a sport. They are not the first country to do so as France and South Korea have also declared that esports are sports but it another push for esports as they continue to grow. This deceleration was made on September 26th.

I think this is great for the league. The next question is does this mean esports should be in the Olympics? There was a lot of discussion if is should be included or not but if countries are officially saying we accept it as a sport then shouldn't that be enough to include it in the games. The argument comes that it does not have the physical exertion of other sports but to me the competition is there so they should give medals for it. Time will tell but I do think you will see them in the Olympics before too long. The other question is what games do you have? There are a lot of titles.

We will see how many other countries come on-board to add esports to the list of sports. At the end of the day though it doesn't really matter what you call it as the views are there and the events are only getting bigger. And when something is as big as it is you can call it or a sport or not but it won't stop it from being a success. I can also tell how much a success it is by the fact there is a picture of it in pixabay to use lol

I think many countries will still adopt such a law.

From what I've heard there is serious talk of it being included in the 2024 Olympics. I hope it does because that will hopefully being more widespread acceptance to esports.

There's also a new good news as SEA games (South East Asian Games) include Esports. Included are Dota, League of Legends, Mobile Legends, Counter Strike, Heartstone etc 😀
