Gymnastics World Championships

Today accidentally bumped into the gymnastics world championships that was held these days in Stuttgart, Germany. It was the final day and only saw the women's floor, the last competitor, Simone Bail. I don't think I have to introduce her to you, if you watch sports news you have heard her name all the time. She's representing the United States of America and it's the most decorated gymnast at the moment.

Yesterday or the day before every news outlet was talking about whether she will be able to break the record. She did, she is now the most decorated gymnast in the world championship history. I've only seen her last performance, the floor. She was good although she stepped outside the line but her score was high enough to get the gold. She got five gold medals in total in Stuttgart. Next is the Olympics in 2020 in Tokyo.

Next was the Men's Horizontal Bar, one of my favorite because it's a spectacular one, it's a pleasure to watch.

Croatian gymnast Tin Srbic was first, he had a good performance but it's hard to compare it to anything unless you're a specialist and can see the mistakes and know how the judges are going to appreciate the performance. It's hard to be first I guess.

Tang Chia-Hung, the Taipei gymnast made a mistake that coated him dearly. Chinese gymnast Lin Chaopan made a step at the landing that he shouldn't and had some small mistaken in executing his exercise. Russian Arthur Dalaloyan had a very nice exercise, well done, except for the big step at landing. These steps are penalized unfortunately. Brazilian Arthur Mariano, he was perfect I said at the moment of watching. He was first after finishing his exercise. Japanese Daiki Hashimoto was good but not better than the Brazilian.

Aussie Tyler Bull fell, could not catch the bar well and fell, which caused him one point penalization plus he lost the value in points of the element. However, he got back on the bar and did an excellent exercise. Shame for that mistake. He acted like a professional though. Samuel Mikulak, USA, had a good and hard exercise, executed well with some hesitations at times with a step at landing.

At the end Arthur Mariano (BR) got the gold, Tin Srbic (CRO) got silver and Arthur Dalaloyan (RUS)
After the results were out, the Brazilian who won gold, started to cry, which is understandable as it's his first world title in the men's horizontal bar final.

It was good to watch gymnastics again and I'm sorry I could not watch the whole championship. It was nice to see the award ceremony as well. Those who were competing a few years ago were now handing out medals, like Fabian Hambüchen.

I haven't had a chance to watch any of it sadly. I try to catch it because what these athletes do is really incredible. Biles has many more medals coming her way in Tokyo.

You should and I hope I can watch the rest I missed. You're right, if she's healthy, she could do much more in Tokyo.
