Visitng my father and some habit changes reflexion

I just came back from Brazil, I was visiting my father. He isn't bad at all. I think that my visit also cheered him up a bit. We could go to the movies, even. We went to restaurants in addition to his treatment, part of his immunotherapy/chemotherapy. More precisely, last Thursday was just a chemo round with cisplatin and gemcitabine. One thing that my parents noticed about me is that I changed a bit in some food and living habits. I avoided and controlled my intake of some foods. Those who follow my blog know a bit about some happenings in my life that probably motivated these changes.
The first is trying to exercise myself at least 3 times a week. I was lucky that the building where my parents live has a gym, not a big one. Just one treadmill, a bicycle, and some weights. I went there three times last week, and I could convince my father to go with me, and he used the treadmill for 15 minutes. It is a pity that He didn't go more during my stay, probably he won't step there for another month. Well, I can't control the other, but I can control myself. I was happy that I continued my recent changes to exercise. I recently didn't get good LDL levels results in my blood exams, so for sure, some cardio is important to reduce these levels.
Another big change that I would thank @ladyaryastark for the shout out was to eat chia seeds every day. I started to add 1 tsp to my yogurt ( which is 0% fat, of course). The first thing that I did when I arrived in Brazil was to buy chia seeds and my green tea. I am drinking green tea every day as a substitute for the daily pop cans. I started to drink green tea when my father got the new diagnosis. Green Tea has polyphenols and antioxidants. I read that in one Japanese city where they practically breathe green tea have one of the lowest rates of cancer in the world.
I was already taking the Zero pops, without sugar, but still too many unnatural chemicals in these pops that no one knows how much they are linked to diseases like cancer. Also, I decided to abandon other sources of carbs and my red meat intake, including processed foods like sausages and the delicious Italian salami. Of course that during the 10-day trip, I ate some hypercaloric food or a Brazilian barbecue at my in-laws' house. Now that I am back home, I will be back to my normal diet. There are foods that we can't find much in Canada or even anything, so it is ok if I eat some during this trip. Well, at least the açai smoothie has some good vitamins in there.

I tried to introduce my father to the green tea, but it didn't go very well with him. Well, I tried. At least in this trip, I could enjoy his company and make him forget about his daily life being a cancer patient. Last month, again, only @ladyaryastark was the only contestant of my monthly contest, so I decided to stop for now. I transferred the 5 SBI with the wrong memo and I am trying to see how to fix it, lol, if not, I will transfer again.

Oh man avoid cans, aluminum seeps into your food and you eat it, zero sugar food has chemical junk like aspartame, only stevia and maybe xyltol are fine, red meat once in a while like every 2 weeks and salami forget it because they put carcinogenic nitrates
Yeah for sure cans hehe
also trying to avoid plastic containers xD microplastics are everywhere... in the end we do the best that we can but...we never know right?

Plastic containers are a pain in the ass, it's basically impossible to avoid them they put every food in that damn plastic... I even need to take water from plastic bottles because from public service there's good risk to drink arsenic or pfas and glass bottles cost an eye
Sorry he wasn't into green tea! lol I think it's great that you're making positive health changes. You're at the age you need to stay on top of that, in a few more years it gets much harder.

I see many people that doesn't care about what they do with their bodies... it is a pity! Like anything in life we don't need to be too radical in these changes; we can continue drinking our alcohol or eating our red meat, but reducing a lot in our daily life can make some good impacts on our future!
Moderation in all things is good. Some red meat and some alcohol won't hurt you. Start drinking 1 L a day of Vodka and eat red meat three times a day not so good!

Controlling your diet and what you eat takes a lot of dedication and discipline. Keep up the great work!
For sure! Especially with physical exercises, I think, It is so hard to fight against lazyness hehehe. But with food I am pretty motivated, probably one day I will post about all my experience with green tea ! I learned a lot about it all the varieties hehehe

You are quite serious about your health and It's good for you where I am not so serious. I just control my eating habit which doesn't require too much effort.
There were a contest and there were only one participant. I wasn't aware about it. I think I missed many post of you because I was busy with my exam preparation.
