Mewis strike sends Man city to Wembly

Things went wrong for Arsenal women team yesterday.

It was a very tough head to head between Manchester city women and Arsenal women, it was a surprise that Manchester city women ended a long unbeaten of Arsenal women in the women’s FA cup. The match ended in Manchester city women 2 - 1 Arsenal women.

Manchester city women had their first goal at 19th minute of the match by Stephanie Houghton.

Arsenal women also had it first goal as an equalizer at the 38th minute by Jordan Nobbs.

We all hope Arsenal women are up for come back as they use to be, but it was a very busy match, unfortunately for the Reds’ women, Manchester city women had their second and last goal which came in at 41 minute by the United States midfielder Samantha Mewis who quickly restored City's lead and they remained on top in the second half.

Arsenal boss Joe Montemurro on a remark said "They dominated the first 60 minutes, they were better than us and we have no excuses.”

"It's disappointing because we had the capacity to play well but tonight wasn't the night."

Man City boss Gareth Taylor on a remark said "We played really well in the first half and I was really impressed with the performance and it could arguably have been a bigger lead going into half-time.”

"Arsenal had a real good go in the second half and it was fairly tight at the end but we came through.”

"It's good to be going back to Wembley, the girls really deserve it but we don't have time to stop with the WSL and the Continental Cup next week."
