Watching the women basketball team USA against Nigeria live now. Unlike the men of team USA currently struggling to play well together, I doubt this team will have any trouble walking over pretty much any team. Of course, like with any sport, surprises can happen, so we'll see...
Nigeria doing better than just resisting with a 20-17 lead at the end of the first quarter! Still plenty of time in the game though.

Yeah, men lost their first game, but women US team absolutely dominates that sports with 49 Olympics matches won in a row so far (and 63 official matches), they won the last 6 gold medals!
And in the second quarter, they showed their superiority, they now lead 44-32 (including a lucky 3 pointer at the buzzer from Nigeria)
20 points lead for team USA at the end of third quarter. Nigeria is not playing bad at all, but team USA is just too strong.

Final score 81-72. That's 50 Olympics wins in a row for USA. Nigeria played well, but team USA was never worried, they can easily play much better if and when needed.

Except for the first quarter where they had a bit of trouble passing the ball, and shooting well, probably because Nigeria came out really strong, they were never in any danger, and in double digit lead almost the entire match.
The Nigerians women did well in the basketball game against the USA women but was unable to grind out the needed results has the Us women came up 81-72 winners at the end of clash. The win also marks the 50th straight win for team Us women in the Olympics.
Wow, big surprise in tennis at the Olympics, with Naomi Osaka already out. She was the big favorite, playing at home. But she just lost her round of 16 match against Marketa Vondrousova in 2 sets (6-1,6-4). Big disappointment for Japan... The three first seeds (Osaka, Ashleigh Barty et Aryna Sabalenka) are already out of the tournament.
Wow the first 3 seeds were already kicked out? That is an unexpected surprise.
Really disappointing one from the Japanese tennis. Was expecting a victory from her been at home but Czech professional outdid her in straight sets.
Also quite a round this tournament has been going has top seeds seem dumped at least expected candidates. Guess we will be seeing an under dog clinch gold i this year female Olympics.
Even though the Nigerian female basketball team is trailing behind the defending champions, they have given a good show in the game. I doubt if this USA team will go far in this competition.
What do you mean you doubt they will go far? On the contrary, I have almost no doubt team USA will win this tournament once again.
I have doubts. The team isn't as coordinated like the USA basketball team you know.
I think they are, that first game shows it. Without even breaking a sweat almost, they won against a good Nigerian team. Now, if we're talking about the men team, then sure there are doubt, but the women team, right now I don't see any other team that can compete with them. But we will see, the magic of the Olympics and the surprises.
Yeah they did quite well but we were bettered by the world champions which isn't really disappointing. The us will certainly go far with all I have been seeing.

I started watching the USA-Australia game in women football. After about 30 minutes, it seems pretty even so far, with Australians very generous with their efforts, and USA better technically I believe. Australia hit the crossbar but it's still 0-0. In their first game, USA scored much more in second half, maybe they'll do the same. But it's getting way too late, so I'll watch the end later.
Just as I was writing that, USA scored a nice goal, but it was disallowed for offside (just a few centimeters offside). In the previous game, they already had 4 goals disallowed for offside.
Apparently, both teams were okay with a 0-0 tie. Nothing much happened in second half. The USA will play against the Netherlands in the quarter final. That's a rematch from last world cup final that team USA won. But this time around, the Netherlands team seems better, particularly their attack with 21 goals in the 3 group stage matches!
The last quarter final will be Sweden against Japan

This game is a must win for the Japan side. So, I will give it a straight win to Japan with over 2.5 goals. A reasonable bet on this game would bring good returns.

Japan won 1-0 this morning. With Canada and Great Britain tying 1-1, Japan finishes third in their group. I believe they should make it to the quarter finals as one of the best thirds though.
Decent prediction. The Chilean didn't disappoint has they got the needed maximum point after a 1-0 narrow win. They didn't score has much goals but sure got the result. Their win puts them in third place. Hopefully they get the chance of making out has one best third placed team.

My second prediction for today will be on friendly game between Guiseley and Leeds united. This is a sure win for Leeds united with over 2.5 goals.
This is almost like a certain outcome going by what has happened in previous years. Leeds united is yet to taste defeat since this friendly began years old. Don't also expect a surprise this evening.

And another big surprise in the Olympics. With reasons still not clear, Simone Biles had to withdraw from the artistic gymnastics team final competition. As it seems to be for medical reasons, I hope she can quickly recover and be back for the individual competitions. She was the big favorite for the gold.
Without her, team USA won the silver medal after losing to the Russian Olympic Committee team which of course gets the gold medal.
