Richarlison officially retires from winning trophies

Listening to Spurs fans rave about the addition of Richarlison to their squad is pretty funny. I mean, for the most part, Spurs have been the Harry-Son show and adding the Brazillian to their squad doesn't change much.

While everyone else has been taking steps to improve their squad, Spurs have been signing players that either nobody wants or AFTV clowns want, as @blanchy pointed out.

Anyway, for whatever little it is worth, adding Richarlison to their squad is alright for the numbers but at that price, they really should be getting someone better.

Earlier in the transfer window, Liverpool announced the signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica for only 4 million quid more than Spurs paid for Richarlison. If Spurs were a serious team, they would have been investing that money into well-scouted players that would actually improve their stocks.

To put things into perspective, Darwin Nunez has scored 48 goals in just 85 games for Benfica while Richarlison has only 95 goals in a spell that cuts across his time at Watford until his exit from Everton to Spurs.

When you think about it though, Richarlison has reached his ceiling and Totnum is probably the biggest team he will ever play for until he decides to move back to the Brazillian league like most of his compatriots.

On the red side of North London, Gabriel Jesus was added to the attack to bolster the ranks. He might not have elite numbers but this is a man that has shown he is at the same level as most elite teams on the planet.

He has tormented defenders at Liverpool, and Real Madrid and knows what it means to play at the top level. He will be bringing this elite mentality to an Arsenal side that is also pushing to become one of the elites.

For Richarlison, it will be business as usual, as he moves from a dead Everton team into Spurs bottling company.

At the end of the day, the biggest loser is Conte and his streak of winning trophies in every team he has managed. Just as Jose Mourinho and all the managers before him found out, there's no manager good enough to win a trophy at Spurs bottling company.

That’s funny

I mean it would make more sense if say he was a Brazilian forward moving from perhaps the league champions to a side that consistently finishes mid table?

Darwin deal is £85mil in total with £64 mil guaranteed

Richarlison deal is £60mil in total with £50 mil guaranteed

With both deals no one really knows the structure of payments so it’s a bit like comparing apples and oranges.

If you’re having difficulty with numbers remember that 5th comes after 4th. Mind the gap…

(Edited)

Mid table team that has been more successful than a generational Spurs team with checks note nothing to show for it.

We finished 4th for over 20 years and we're ridiculded for it. You're finishing 4th and being praised. There are levels to it.

Tottenham would definitely be title contenders next season and we could see that they mean business with their big signings

Written by a fan whose team has forgotten what the Champions league anthem sounds like ...
If someone can be honest , Gabriel Jesus is the one who has officially retired from winning trophies
