It's never a dull moment being a Spurs supporter. No game at the weekend. No Winter signings as of yet. Although in fairness Paradici likes to works until the last minute and does most of his signings at the back end of the market which will be in the next 14 days. But if you look around with the exception of Villa and Newcastle, there is not much movement anywhere. Coutinho to Villa , Trippier to Newcastle are the biggest moves but there is still time and patience is the key. It will happen. Traore is pretty much in the back. Kessie is coming in the Summer at the latest. And there are one or two others in the pipeline. If we haven't signed anyone by the 31st January I will be very surprised. Conte wants a Centre Midfielder, a right wing back, a centre half and a striker, The Centre half can wait until the summer with Romero back but he still wants one. My worry is that Man United are sniffing around and Conte walks at the end of the season. So I do hope they match Conte's expectations. Traore is an interesting one as a right wing back. If Conte wants him then I am quite comfortable with that. With Kane and Son in front of him, he could be unreal. Doherty going the other way is icing on the cake. Unless we give Florentina 90 million for Vlahovic, it's not gonna happen. Clubs don't sell their main striker in the middle of the season unless they break the bank.
In other news Romero is back training thank god. Ndombele is also training away from the squad as we try and shift him out. I think it might be for his own good as I would say the players all want to throttle him. Hopefully someone will come in for him. Roma are interested by they want to seal another deal before they put their focus elsewhere. And the Kane transfer is not going to go away either with city walking the league at the moment. I would love to sign Lindgard , Vlahovic and take Wijnaldum from PSG. The reality is some up and coming centre back and a second string striker for Blackburn. WE HAVE ONE STRIKER. We need another.

All this news and we haven't played a premiership match since New Years Day. Arsenal ran away. @talesfrmthecrypt covers this excellently in his recent post. The counter point is all clubs agreed to these regulations but they did take the piss. Stop loaning players out if you can't field a team. Ridiculous. Look at what Leeds did at the weekend against West Ham. Had a reserve team out and beat West Ham. There should be no excuses.

So we have Leicester on Wednesday so we should have a fresh squad. Reggy is back which is a good thing and the players should be well rested. Son is still out so it might give either Bergwijn and Gil a run. It will be interested to see the line up and whether Romero is back . Dier is back fit also so this is positive (I can't believe I'm saying that.)
So that's it for now. Back next week after Chelsea again on Sunday. Sweet Jesus.
With a bit of luck Loris will sign a new deal as well. 2 year extension hopefully.

WE HAVE ONE STRIKER. We need another.

At least that's not a new problem then 🤣

Would like to have seen a little bit more movement on the transfer front by now but anyway, it doesn't matter because we can just postpone all our future fixtures until we have the ideal squad in place

The good thing is that every Leicester player is at AFCON

The thing about Spurs is that their problems aren't exactly new. Managers there always failed to get decent support, their scouting team hasn't brought in a lot of great players either. Without a clear project and vision, any purchase seems random. Even Inter had to break the bank to win Serie A and they brought in decent players that don't serve only one manager.

As for the Arsenal bit, I actually just posted a piece about them. I am not justifying here, but Arsenal have found themselves in a place where they are closer to a UCL than it was expected and now they seek to use everything they can to keep their chances. Different clubs have different realities, Arsenal and Leeds aren't in the same place.

So Arsenal should get favouritism over Leeds as they are closer to a UCL spot?? They had 1 Covid case when they applied to have the game called off. Seems a bit unfair no?

No, as I said, it is not justifying. Just pointing out the difference. The FA doesn't stop the games on their own, there have to be requests. There was another game postponed as well. Arsenal had a combination of reasons, not the 1 covid case, including injuries and AFCON call ups. The team has virtually no midfield. In late December when Leeds asked, they got their match postponed against Villa.

I have read the post you refer to as well and decided not engage it because much like here, it focused on the Covid cases, which wasn't the main deciding factor in the ruling.

The comment about different realities is about how every point for Arsenal counts, which is why top clubs have asked for postponing repeatedly and let's not forget Pep, Klopp, and Tuchel's moaning about the boxing day matches format. For Leeds, it is a different case. Context matters and that was my point.

Either way, I support Man United in the PL, so I hope you both lose lol

It's not another teams fault if Arsenal have players away at the Afcon , loaned players out and have injuries. The covid ruling where teams apply to have games called off should not be for anything else other than Covid. Arsenal used it with one covid case which was Odengaard. The fact that some of the team are in Africa shouldn't come into it and it has. Surprised a man u supporter is defending Arsenal?? Even Neville is shouting from rooftops about it. Yee have your own problems! 🤣🤣

Waiting to see Adama Traore signs. He'd legit be a sweet signing.

Concerned about his final third game. But with Kane and Sonny in front if him and a new position it could be a master stroke

Ye that's a great observation. I mean in the final third all he really needs to do is hold the ball up and lay it off to Kane or Sonny. That's a freaking lethal combo. In FIFA on Playstation 5 at least anyway ..

I was glad the match against arsenal was postponed. As an arsenal fan, I knew we would have had slim chances of winning. I hope spurs signs before the market closes.
