Well well well. What can I say. Manachester City have come to our fortress now on 5 occasions and have still to score 1 goal. We are as they say a bogey team to Manchester City. Pep just can't seem to beat us at home. I am not sure what it is but whenever City come to play , we always do well against them. But this time was different. This time we deserved to win. We were not hanging in there like we usually do. No, Kane and Sonny should have scored 3. Haaland had an XG of 0.00 against us. City's problems speak for themself. Why buy a powerful number 9 who makes great runs if the Man City's midfielders are not going to feed him. Rumours going around that Pep is actually getting Haaland to watch Harry Kane's videos about movement says it all. There was a new kid in town but the King is not dead yet. It was in fact him that stood out during this tie. I wonder if Pep is disappointed that he got Haaland instead of Kane.

There is a stark difference between the two. If Kane isn't getting any supply he turns into a number ten and comes deep. Maybe too deep in fact. But Haaland doesn't do this. He struck a frustrated figure on Sunday as he did not get a whiff of the ball. Plus a few hard tackles from Coco Romero made sure that he was watching his back a little in case the Argentinian world cup winner would send him into next week. But it was Kane who came up trumps and got his goal to beat the all time record goalscorer at Tottenham beating the great Jimmy Greaves. Nice touch from Tottenham as well with their big screen.

Kane got a call from Conte after the match who was recovering from Gallbladder surgery. It was a lovely moment after the game. I would say Conte was at home in Italy jumping up and down. He told Kane he was very proud of him which was a touching moment. When Kane actually scored I got all emotional. The player is a machine. He was always written off and worked hard to become the best striker in the Premiership if not the world. People ask how is he so good because he is not the fastest, not a goal poacher, not a normal number 9. But once he shoots he normally converts. The World Cup where he missed a penalty was very unlike Kane. Most of the time you would bet your house on him. His penalty technique is the best in the business.

I could talk all day about Kane but all the players played well. Shout out to Emerson Royal who has been getting lots of grief from home fans this season. So much so that I didn't see any future for him at the club. He was unreal the other day and fair play to him. Royal has spent close to a £1 million in strenght and conditioning equipment to get him in top shape physically. He always tries his hardest and thankfully he came good the other day. The man has been knocked down on a number of occasions. But we have to remembber a couple of things.

  1. The guy is only 23 years of age.
  2. He is not aa natural wing back.

Royal is a right back and a very good one and Conte is having him play in this wing back role. So against the likes of City, he defends more which suit him down to the ground and lone behold he plays well. So well in fact that he got player of the match. This will give him great confidence considering Pedro Porro is sniffing at his heels and he needs to keep his place.

Not only Emerson and Kane but our defence was excellent and our two midfielders in Bentancur and Hojbjerg were immense. The cunning eye would have noticed that Hojbjerg played a much more attacking role and Bentancur held back which is usually the other way around but I think this way suits him. His assist to Kane was world class.

Stellini took charge of Spurs since Conte was absent and I was glad for him that Spurs won. Some commentators said that it was because Conte wasn't there was the reason Spurs played on the front foot. I hope they are wrong because something clicked on Sunday. The players all played for each other and the manager. Son even had a good game so hopefully we will kick on from here now. We are only 1 point from top 4. 3 points from top 3. 6 points from second and 11 points from the leaders. Not too bad for a "Disaster" of a season.

Arsenal fans were hoping Spurs would beat city after their calamitous defeat to 18th place Everton but as @talesfrmthecrypt rightly pointed out, Arsenal will fuck thing sup all on their own so there was no need to be shouting for their arch enemies. Hive FPL Discord went dark at around 2pm on Saturday with the Arsenal brigade frantically editing past posts saying the League was over. It wasn't until Spurs beat City that they raised their smelly heads above the parapet again giving it large.

When Arsenal lose one they lose 3 after it so the next few games will be crucial for their season. They play Brentford on Saturday. Surely they can beat these bums?? Surely.

Yeah, I agree we bossed that game. Would have been nice to have scored again to make things more comfortable but City never looked likely to break us down.

Royal is helped no end by having Kulusevki back because it allows him to play in more of a full back / half back role. He always a bit lost when playing that out and out wing back position.

I can’t believe that Pep left KDB and Gundogan on the bench. I don’t rate Bernardo Silva especially with a genuine number 9 in the side. He just sits in there playing 5 yard square passes. He’ll be gone in the summer too I reckon.

I don’t think that Haaland needs to drop deeper, in fact I think it would do more harm than good. City just need to be prepared to hit him earlier and play with more variety.

Yeah I would say De Bruyne's head isn't right since the world Cup. I'd say the dressing room is not happy either with the nutty professor playing players out of position.id say Silva will be off in the summer. And with the city news the other day there might be a new dawn coming in the prem. Good to see.

I think you’re right, it almost feels like Pep is bored winning with a familiar system and has overcomplicated things at times as much for the sake of his own ego than for getting a result.

Happy for you mate but I am also sad for City because they had the chance to close the point gab and bottle it, Manchester City are not the same anymore and I am beginning to have doubts they will defend their title this season.
