You like my click-bait photo there from Pixabay? I wish that Pixabay had a better selection of sports photos, but I know that most of the major players have digital rights to all of those and being able to use them comes at a premium.

Anyway.

This past Monday we had two top 25 games in the NCAA. The show stopper of the night was #11 West Virginia taking out #10 Texas Tech by a single point. I didn't get to watch this game because I was sitting in a virtual school board meeting, but I bet it was a barn burner! Being only one rank apart from each other I don't expect much movement from these two teams any time soon.

Tuesday gave us five games with quite a number of upsets. #24 Oklahoma took out #5 Texas by one point. Unranked Dayton beat #22 Saint Louis, and unranked Auburn handed #12 Missouri the loss. Another surprise from Tuesday is Alabama sitting at #9. Where did they come from? They do realize this is basketball season right? Perhaps they are going for a trifecta this year!

Wednesday gave us seven top twenty five games. The sole surprise of the night came from the ACC where unranked Clemson beat #25 Louisville. Baylor had a commanding win over Kansas State putting up 107 points. The Creighton and Seton Hall game looks like it was probably a fun one to watch.

Finally, last night gave us two postponed games and three played games. My Michigan State Spartans played, but they are unranked as are the Rutgers team they got absolutely hammered by. I am not really sure what is going on with the Spartans at this point. It is not looking good for the post season unless they can do really well in the Big 10 tournament.

I have to wonder if Tom Izzo is finally starting to seriously consider life past MSU at this point. I hate to see him go out like this, but he might be able to point to Covid and just say he wants to spend more time with his family. He already has a great career, he is in the hall of fame, there isn't much he should be ashamed of.

Since last year doesn't really count due to Covid, this could be one of the only times in recent history that MSU has not made it to the tournament. That would be a crying shame, but quite honestly the way they have been playing, they don't deserve to be there. Hopefully that changes.

Gonzaga continues to roll along. It may be a very lopsided tournament this year if they keep up their momentum. I am sure @bigtom13 would be really happy with that.

Saturday is the big day this weekend for college basketball. Let's see how many of the games actually get played.

Oh, I forgot to mention. After a couple of losses my secondary team Tennessee dropped down to #18. They were able to pull out a win over Mississippi State by three points on Tuesday. I am not sure it will really move them much, but a win is a win!

There you have it. Check back Monday for a wrap up of the top 25 weekend action.

I'm a #gators fan but haven't gotten into BB this year for some reason (I blame CC, covid and crypto). Last I knew we had the #1 kid in the nation go down with a medical issue. The news to me was we had the #1 kid in the nation.

I'm still following it this year, but not like I was last year. The whole Covid thing has everything all over the place.
