Bozzlife: Weekly top 25 College Hoops Wrapup

Alright, so we made it to Friday and it is time to recap all of the top 25 college basketball that took place this week. I think most people are looking toward the Super Bowl and they have their sights set on that.

I think it should be a good game, but I honestly don't have much dedication to either team. I do like Mahomes, but you can't really question the GOATness of Brady.

Anyway, I promised some basketball, so let's get to that.

Monday night saw three games, but one of them was postponed.

The other two gave us one upset with #13 Texas Tech beating #9 Oklahoma. It looks like it was a pretty close game and it would have been nice to see Oklahoma take their frustration out on # 2 Baylor, but I just read that Baylor cancelled their next two games one of them being the game against Oklahoma.

Tuesday gave us quite a bit of action with eight games actually being played. On top of lots of games, this is also the first time I decided to make some bets. The state I live in just opened up legal sports betting, so I have been waiting for a good time to play around with the app a little bit.

I placed right around five bets on Tuesday night and I think I lost all of them but one. Talk about a let-down...

Unranked Maryland beat #24 Purdue by one point. This one doesn't surprise me too much because I think Maryland really deserves to be in the top 25. With this win they might just find themselves there.

Unranked Ole Miss took down #11 Tennessee by one bucket. I am starting to think that teams do well based on the fact that I am cheering for them. Before I adopted The Volunteers as my secondary team they were doing quite well. Now that I picked them up, they have been on a bit of a slump.

Speaking of slumps, Michigan State almost pulled out the win against #8 Iowa. The six point spread in the final score doesn't really give you an idea of how close the Spartans were able to keep this game. Unfortunately with yet another loss, their post season hopes are not looking so good.

There were no other upsets on Tuesday, but Indiana did take #12 Illinois to overtime before suffering the loss.

Wednesday gave us a plethora of games as well. Eight more were played in fact and one was postponed.

Probably the biggest shock of the night was East Carolina (who?) taking down #5 Houston by nine points. Well done Pirates! Unranked South Carolina also took down #22 Florida by a pretty decent margin. Kentucky has found themselves out of the top 25 and that is a crying shame. I know many of the Wildcat faithful are pretty sad about that. Trust me, as an MSU fan, I feel your pain. Wednesday was definitely the night for upsets as we also had Georgetown taking down #15 Creighton, Pittsburgh beating #16 Virginia Tech, and St. John's putting the smack down on #3 Villanova.

I actually am not too surprised by that St. John's game despite Villanova being ranked #3. The Red Storm is a good team that is has always been prone to flashes of greatness over the past five years.

Finally last night gave us a barn burner between #7 Ohio State and #8 Iowa. I didn't watch it, but it looks like it was true offensive tour de force with both teams nearly reaching 100 points.

Anyway, tonight we get a break and then a bunch of games on Saturday as well as three games on Super Bowl Sunday(not that anyone will probably be watching).

I did throw a bet down on Tampa Bay for the SB. Who are you cheering for?

haha, awesome. The Pirates were pretty great at football in the 90's and are routinely good at baseball but yeah... "who?" is the correct answer even though it is one of the largest colleges in all of NC with over 28,000 students.

Good to know! I put some money down on them this weekend hoping they could follow up with another big win, but I was let down...
