Family Fantasy Football Week 15: A Christmas Miracle!

I take it all back. Every curse, every whine, every bitter comment I made about the whole fantasy football thing. I take it all back! By some cosmic miracle did I not only win this week, that win pushed me high enough in our league rankings to net me a spot in the playoffs!

I can't even believe it! I spent the majority of the season down in 8th place and yet here I am, getting ready to compete for the title.

I don't even know how to comprehend all of this.

I am going to post this right here just I can get some more eyes on it to verify that I am not imagining it or hallucinating!

My wife also won her matchup this past weekend and solidified her place in the playoffs. That means both myself and @mrsbozz are playing for the title. Thankfully, we aren't playing against each other in the first round.

This way we have twice the chance to make it to the title game.

Clearly I am hoping for a win here, but in a season that has been anything but spectacular, I am pretty happy that I made it this far. I guess persistence does pay off!

The fact that Tom Brady had such a horrible week was a real benefit to me as you can see from the breakdown.

On top of that, Mahomes was back in automatic mode which was enough to push me over the top. Johnson could have done better, but Mahomes more than made up for his shortcomings. Jefferson didn't put up the huge numbers we have seen in past weeks, but I can't complain about 10 points. That is the average I shoot for from each of my players besides the QB.

Williams is concerning and given the game that Gordon had against the Lions a couple of weeks ago, I might need to consider swapping those two for the playoffs.

Kittle did great and Andrews was on fire again. Those two have been pretty solid for me and I am really happy with them. My kicker did well, but as you can see he got put on Covid protocols, so I am going to need to move Folk back into that slot as you will see in a second when I show my bench.

It's still a crap shoot between the Buffalo and Cleveland defense. I am going to have to look at who has more to lose next week.

Ideally, my wife and I would both win this week and then it would be me versus her in the championship game. I would love that matchup!

My sister in law is probably "hurting" a little bit that she didn't play Hurts as her quarterback based on the numbers you see here. Kirk might need to fill in for that slot that Johnson has been struggling in.

Honestly, I don't think my sister in law cares too much that she lost this week. She still made it to the playoffs, so she would have much to complain about anyway.

It is going to be interesting to see how the next couple of weeks unfold. Unfortunately for you, you are going to need to listen to me talk about this stuff for at least one more week. Hopefully two!

I was honestly laughing so hard this morning when I woke up, saw the final scores, and realized that I had actually made it to the playoffs. It was a totally unexpected, but extremely welcome sight!

Wish me luck heading into the next contest!

Nice job on getting playoffs, DO you pay to be in this league?

Thank you! No, it is just a family league so we don't pay, but at the end of the year we do buy a fifth of alcohol for whoever wins. So the winner ends up with six or seven bottles each year. Just depends on if their spouse decides to buy something for them!
