An unexpected break in the rain makes for a great Thursday run!

This time of year it really seems like a gamble every time that we head out into the jungle for a 5-7 km hike/jog/run/walk followed by beers. It's a gamble because it is rainy season and as you might be aware there is always danger of not just rain but of high-pressure shower-like downpour that can make it difficult to even see where you are running.

We have been very lucky these past few weeks because there has been plenty of rain, even some areas of the city are flooding, yet NONE of our runs are getting much of this rain (not that we would ever call the runs off anyway.)

This is a favorite location for our runs because well, the water features are always something that people enjoy. But look at that sky? It doesn't even seem like rainy season at all! I think Buddha must be looking out for us because it has been grey and rainy all week, but somehow on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday we caught a break right at our run times.

This is one of the better-maintained "park areas" in Chiang Mai and it is always amazing to me that not only is it very well looked after, it doesn't seem to get used really at all by the Thais. I guess it is a bit far away from the city and not just everyone has a few buses they can use.

Clocking in at just over 6km with no mistakes at the checks, many of our lazier members (which is almost all of us) think that this is the perfect type of run for us to have, especially since there is very little in the way of elevation change here as well.

As the day came to a close, we did the usual drinking of copious amounts of beer as well.

We had a very young member of the HHH crew join us on the ice as even babies want to get involved and again, I want to remind everyone that we do NOT give alcohol to children on these things. We don't want them dipping into our stash.

This might win the award for cutest Hash-photo of the year and i don't think that the little fella even knows what is going on. He didn't seem to mind sitting on the water and was cheerful to get involved.

As usual, I strongly encourage anyone out there that is in the Chiang Mai area to come and join us on our runs, you can find full details of the weekly events on our website here. IF you are not in Chiang Mai, get out there and see if your community has a Hash chapter. I promise you it will change your life for the better!
