Cherry Breaker was a success and men were allowed to participate

There are a couple of annual events that we have here in Chiang Mai and many other Hashes around the world have something similar / exactly the same.

It is a LOT longer than our usual events and normally the "Ball Breaker" is a men's only event and the "Cherry Breaker" is a women's only event. However, due to Covid and the fact that there are very few of our members actually in the country at the moment and no visitors are allowed in from other Hashes (unless they are already in Thailand) an exception was made for this years "Cherry Breaker."

A great time was had by all and no one died, and these are two things we aim for at all of our events, especially the special ones like this.

Despite it being the rainy season we once again got very lucky as far as the weather was concerned and although some of the trails were quite muddy, it didn't rain a drop during the entire time that we were out there.

The ladies who organized this event did a fantastic job and also had a much shorter trail that is called the "Bushy Trail" and we would normally use a far more crude word instead of "Bushy" but we try to tone it down a bit for the more sensitive members of our community.

The "Bushy Trail" was about as long as any of our runs would normally be and some might say it was actually considerably easier. I don't know for certain, because I'm not a little bitch and I did the main one which is the entire reason why we were there anyway.

When you look at these figures, if you are someone who does any sort of running 15 kilometers is nothing to get worked up about, I am aware of that. But you need to keep in mind that we are dealing with hills, are running almost entirely off road, and in many instances the trails aren't even trails at all. So it is a bit more difficult and by difficult I mean fun.

Typically, men are not allowed on these runs and since an exception was made we do still try to embarrass them as much as possible. Skirts and headdresses were provided to the males in attendance and normally they would be required for all but we didn't have enough of them.

At the end of it all, everyone did at least a 5k (except for the hares, who marked the trail and already did about 20k of their own while doing so) and everyone got a commemorative T-shirt as well as unlimited ice cold beers. That's well worth the $20 that it cost to get involved and I am extremely happy that the ladies allowed us penis-possessing runners to participate this year.

This week we will be resuming our usual 3 runs per week and once again, I want to encourage everyone out there to come and join us as all are welcome. Full details can be found at our official website here
