The 32nd Summer Olympics opened today with grand opening ceremony held in the city of Tokyo where the Olympic village is situated and the postponed event which was under doubt to be started even today was finally off to a good start.
Olympics is considered as the greatest sporting event and I am happy to bring out to you another blog about Sports on Sports Talk Social community.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the International Olympic Committee, Thomas Bach and Emperor of Japan, Naruhito along with other dignitaries.
Faster Higher, Stronger is the official Olympic motto and in solidarity to the fight against the ongoing pandemic CoVid 19, the motto was officially changed for the Tokyo Olympics as Faster, Higher, Stronger - Together to show that, we need to fight the pandemic together
Naomi Osaka, The First Asian to hold top ranking in women's Singles tennis and the 4 time Grand Slam singles title winner got the honor of lighting the Olympic Cauldron at the Olympic village to commemorate the beginning of Olympic Games.

India in Opening Ceremony:

Indian Olympic committee had announced on free hand that, not all the sport persons from India will part of the opening ceremony keeping in view of the CoVid rising cases in Olympic village and only few selected will take part.
As announced earlier, Manpreet Singh, the captain of Indian men's Hockey team and Mary Kom, the Six time Women's World Boxing Champion were India's flag bearers in the opening ceremony along with other selected athletes.

The interesting fact in the opening ceremony was to call on the marching teams in the order of Japanese letters instead of usual order of English Alphabets and as a custom, Greece was called up First like in every Olympics as mark of honor for them being the beginners of modern Olympics games back in 1896 and then the other teams to follow and finally, the host nation of Japan to enter the stadium to complete the parade proceedings.
Indian team which participated in the marching was seen with waving and flagging the Indian tricolor at the the people watching the opening ceremony.

Olympics, an event which will be held once in 4 years is something all the sports persons will be having a dream to participate and it's now officially on with participants eager to perform and it's our duty to cheer them but from our homes as the restrictions are on for CoVid 19 :)
Thanks as always for the support, I will be back with another blog later today with the OCD Curation Update for the Sports Talk Social Community and as we see right now, there is lesser participation by our regular bloggers who gets featured and that most probably leads us to lesser curation, but I will get the details in that other blog.
Until then, take care of yourself, be safer and keep blogging.

Thanks and have a great Saturday :)
