A little bump on the road yesterday in the match between Charleroi and Genk dropping around 1 unit in total with pretty much every bet going wrong. I'm back to break-even on the week but plenty more matches to have a go at starting today around 16:15. Time to take a closer look at the 3 matches that will be played...
Cercle Brugge vs Waasland
This is an important relegation battle with 2 teams that have not lost in their last 2 matches. Looking at how exactly they performed, Cercel was the better team against the other team in the relegation fight Moeskroen and never really got in trouble after getting 0-1 ahead. In the match at home, they played really defensive and deserved a 2-0 win. In the home match before against Mechelen, they were quite unlucky to lose 0-1 behind late in the match. Overall they have put up rather defensive performances under their new coach and I doubt they will start playing wide-open today knowing that they are ahead of Waasland. The visitors got a late goal against turning golden 3 points into 1 in a match where it can't be said that they impressed. Their coach has been playing rather offensive line-ups but they remain to have a hard time scoring due to lack of player quality and form. Cercle deserves to be the favorite in this match but I wouldn't go as far as saying it should be a -0.75 line. Fear might win out over courage especially early on in the match and a lack of offensive quality from both sides might make the first goal the hardest. Once that is scored, things might blow right open though. I'm willing to take a gamble on this match starting rather nervous with a lack in quality and more focus on making sure not to get a goal against taking a small trading position on
1st Half Under 1 @ 2.10. Cercle might be an option in-game if odds get to a point where they are acceptable or in case they fall behind and show a good reaction.
Oostende vs KV Mechelen
This is a match between 2 revelations of the season who have been bringing a good quality of play. Oostende had to play without Nsakala last weekend playing 1-1 away against Eupen in a rather disappointing match but they won deserved against Stvv at home the match before. Mechelen also played a disappointing match at home against AA Gent also with a 1-1 result and won away against Beerschot in a quite open match. Both teams don't have much to lose in this match and I fully expect them to play their own style willing to go forward. Mechelen will be without key player Van Damme again. I did take a small bet on
Over 2.75 @ 2.080 and will be looking to possibly add some on the 1H over if the match indeed is played with forward intentions since both have a good 1H goal ratio. I also took a small position on
Over 10 Corners @ 2.04 and also a bit on
Over 11 Corners @ 2.78. With Oostende having 2 out of their last 3 home matches see at least 11 corners and Mechelen having their 4 last away matches with at least 11 corners. I will also be looking to add more there. Oostende is the best home 1H team and I do once against expect them to start best taking a small position on
Oostende 1st Half +0 @ 1.826. Should be a fun match and I'm looking forward to more betting action!
Kortrijk vs Zulte-Waregem
Zulte-Waregem has been playing some good matches af of late creeping up to 7th position only 3 points away from a playoff 1 spot. Kortrijk was the first team who managed to win away against Anderlecht mostly because Anderlecht played really poorly. Basically this is a match between 2 teams in good form that have nothing to lose. I have been rather cautious on betting Zulte-Waregem but could not resist taking a small position on
Zulte-Waregem +0.5 @ 1.890 which seems just a bit too might for them right now. Both teams have a rather high 2H ratio and especially Zulte remains a team that is willing to take a lot of risks late in a match when needed. The over is also certainly and I went ahead taking a tiny position on
Over 3.5 @ 2.661 hoping to possibly take more in-game. Should be another interesting match!
