Jupiler League Week 29 Friday | AA Gent vs Zulte-Waregem

I had little to no action in the European match yesterday, but I'm gearing up for hopefully some more in the weekend Jupiler League matches starting tonight in AA Gent vs Zulte-Waregem where I took a position already early in the week...

AA Gent vs Zulte-Waregem

AA Gent is still inside of a playoff 1 spot thanks to a win against a weak Mechelen last week but overall they haven't shown the quality of a playoff 1 team. In fact, over the last 4 matches based on my personal ratings they are at an average 6.4 score which ranks then last in form. Despite all this, they still manage to beat the handicaps narrowly both home and away. Today, they are without Araujo who has shown important and his replacement also can't play so they will need to find a solution there. Kanga also likely won't start and they still suffer from some injuries with Delorgen Samoise, Goore, Paskotsi out. So if anything, it would be a surprise for them to put up a great performance today and I much more expect them to continue showing that the overall quality simply isn't high enough. Zulte-Waregem is just above the playdown places and they fired their coach last week giving this match a coach change shock effect angle which alost systematically has covered the handicaps in the past years. The fact remains that Zulte has actually played some good matches but somehow always managed to lose the matches. Last week their coach played way too cautious against Standard fearing the counters and their defense not being good enough. This also kind of cut off the offesive impulses which is their strong point. It seems that not all players were that aligned with the coach anymore so I do see a good chance for a shock effect. I did take 0.4 units in total on Zulte early this week sharing it on Discord split between 0.205 units on Zulte-Waregem +0.5 @ 1.820 & 0.195 units on Zulte-Waregem +0 @ 2.640. By now, the odds of that last bet have come down to 2.090 on pinnacle and I'm glad to just stick to this position even though the odds on Gent are gettig tempting to take some guaranteed profit. The new Zulte-Waregem coach aims for more efficiency on both ends af often when a new coach comes, the first thing that is fixed is the defense which for now keeps me away from a possible over bet. I'm also leaning on Zulte-Waregem corners but i'm waiting to see what the match picture brings first.

Unfortunately for Genk, I do think/fear that Gent will win easily. Stress could be the only factor involved for them. Because if they win, they will probably play PO1.

Genk winning their own match might be a harder task than seeing Gent drop points today. I was thinking of going for Stvv as the underdogs but the good match from Genk yesterday and the message they gave that the derby has the priority made me stay away. Should be an interesting weekend. I'll certainly miss this race for the playoffs/playdowns next season.
