Sportstalk Curation Showcase

I always look forward to the @sportstalksocial curation showcase as the idea of highlighting posts is a fun way of showing the other communities what we have to offer. This week we have 3 new authors who have never been featured before which shows we have some depth within our tribe. These posts are all live meaning they are still open for extra curation if you have any spare votes lying around. A vote is great, but a follow is also just as good as finding new authors to follow can be time consuming and thus having these highlight posts can help.

2021 Cancun Mexico Deep Sea Sport Fishing Nice Tuna

@broncnutz shares with us a video of him and his family going fishing off the coast of Mexico. Fishing is a sport and this is game fishing so a great post to share. I am looking forward to seeing more personalized 3Speak videos as the community grows and why we must highlight any posts using this format. Having been on some deep fishing trips it is great to see a successful trip as catching fish like this doesn't always happen.

How Usain Bolt's Career May Have Saved Athletics empress-eremmy67 • 13 hours ago

@empress-eremmy has highlighted in her post how Usain Bolt's career was more important than just breaking world records. With so many athletes especially in the 100m event testing positive he stood out for all the right reasons. Come to think about it a huge percentage of his rivals all received doping bans during his time at the top. Who knows if he was squeaky clean or not and only future testing on his old samples may tell a different story. I would like to think the guy was clean and give him the benefit of the doubt. Anyone breaking a world record today will unfortunately raise eyebrows instead of celebrating the achievement. Athletics has never really recovered and has a cloud similar to the Tour De France hanging over it's head these days. Mo Farrah for example has more clouds over him than anyone else and rightly so.

Portugal humiliated by German machine

@tfame3865 loves his football and not surprisingly is writing about the EURO's which are on the go right now. In this post he describes the match as he saw it and how the Germans handed the Portuguese a footballing lesson. This was not a shock result as one player doesn't make a team and in the same way you can't build a team around one player. I must admit I haven't been paying much attention to the early rounds of this tournament and it is articles like this that keep me up to date. There will always be twists and turns with a favorite or two disappearing before the knock out stages. I wouldn't call Portugal a favorite as France and Germany have that tag in this group.

As you can see from this week we are always looking at finding new authors to showcase in our wonderful community. Writing a post is only half the story as we are also looking for those users who engage with others as it is a two way street. This is something we should never have to mention, but lately it has been quite noticeable.

In the end, it’s extra effort that separates a winner from second place. But winning takes a lot more than that, too. It starts with complete command of the fundamentals. Then it takes desire, determination, discipline, and self-sacrifice. And finally, it takes a great deal of love, fairness, and respect for your fellow man. Put all these together, and even if you don’t win, how can you lose?”
Beauty of sports ... that’s why I’ve subscribed to this community
