Sportstalk OCD Incubation Curation Update
Wow we are moving forward at pace. OCD have been curating over the last two weeks and the site is transforming before our eyes in a good way. When we started off we had 717 members and 65 active users and now we can see the effects. The latest figures show there are 767 (+50) members and 102 (+37) active users which is up on last week and showing a steady growth. Week on week growth is something we need to maintain in order to become a proper community.
What I think is encouraging is the quality of posts these days covering multiple sports from boxing, cricket,football,basketball and a whole host of other sports. In the past we mainly had only two or three sports and now we are seeing new users from other parts of the world adding to the offerings available.
The biggest change for me is the trending page as it is not being dominated by one or two users. This is showing that the tribe is healthy with some decent authors. In the past this was what was lacking and everyone seems to have raised their game.
Since the last update OCD has curated 21 posts and out of that 12 were unique and had never been upvoted before. This shows clearly the vote is not being shared between a small group but anyone who posts decent material. Many posts were ineligible for votes due to problems with the image sourcing and slowly this is being rectified. This took hours and hours of checking and will be happy once everyone is up to speed on image sourcing. I know it is not easy but this is something we have to do.
What was encouraging was that we even voted on an @actifit post and shows what is possible with a little effort. I am hoping many @actifit posters see this as an opportunity to offer something more than just an update on their activity numbers and make it into a proper post.
I still believe the @sportstalk tribe can achieve 1000 members by the end of the year and I would like to see at least 40 percent active. That is a tall order I know but with continued support form OCD and support form all the other members of the community I think this is possible.
This week there was also a small clean up spammers and abusers of the tag which was much needed and this is something everyone should be looking at. Take ownership of your tribe and police it yourselves as it cannot be left to one or two people to do everything. This effects us all and also takes away from what is trying to be achieved here. The trending page is fixed and we now need to make sure everything else is worthy of the sports tribe.
I just want to say well done to everyone for making the effort to improve the site. This is something that needs to be an ongoing thing by everyone and to take ownership.
Glad to hear progress is being made, I've been staking the token, but I don;t pay much attention to the project, i'd love to see more uses for the coin, like sports betting or something, making the content more engaging and a reason to use them as a preferred website.
Taking a few pages out of LEO's book would go a long way
I heard there is something happening regarding a game and being used to burn sports but don't have the latest information. I agree Leo is leading the way and others need to take a leaf out of their book.

I guess we can all contribute to make the tribe better, get rid of spam, abuse, and bring content quality users in. This shows it's possible.

Great to see the project getting a breath of fresh air. I need to jump back into it myself as i fell away for a long time and there wasn't much happening.
Just wondering are there any plans to place some ad revenue onto the site and use it to buy hive/sports? This is a great way to increase the curation power of the site and the value of the native token. We have seen how it can be done to great effect and would encourage a lot more users if the saw a solid business plan to add value to the token.

Have just recently added fantasy sports betting through an external partnership. It would be an idea to partner with the site to accept sports for betting or gaming depending on how they advance their own partnership with fantasydom.com. A crypto fantasy sports platform.
Either ay it a site that holds great potential and i hope to see it keep growing.
Last I heard they were waiting for the Ad revenue to filter through and buy and burn tokens. This is taking too long and don't know what the hold up is with the one running the ad money. I believe the other route with the other company offering this should be pursued as it needs to happen. There are or is a game in the pipeline that will burn tokens. I am not involved with the site in that way so @patrickulrich may be able to answer this for you and look into this.
Good to see you and I have been waiting for your posts. Your comment here is the length of some of the posts we have to read through so you know what we are up against currently. Many have improved but others are literally wasting their time which is a shame.
Just trying to be too many places at once.It's hard to keep up around here but i would love to see sportstalk drive forward and build something good here.
