Usain Bolt Story
Usain St. Leo Bolt was born on August 21, 1986 in Trelawny (Jamaica).
His parents Wellesley and Jennifer Bolt owned a small supermarket where he spent a lot of time playing football and cricket with his older brother.
Bolt started at a very early age at school to demonstrate his potential for sprint racing.
At 12, Bolt was already the fastest student at the Waldensia school.
When he entered high school Bolt started doing several sports but his cricket coach, after noticing his speed, insisted that he dedicate himself to athletics.
Bolt focused on the atlestimo having as his coach Pablo Mcneil, a former Jamaican Olympic sprinter.
The first silver medal won by Bolt was in the 2001 inter-school championship, when he was 15 years old in the 100m, recording a time of 22.04 seconds.
Despite this, his trainer reported several times with Bolt due to him making jokes that for McNeil should not be done mainly in the training time.
This year Bolt had his debut representing Jamaica in international events, in the under-17 category, having won two silver medals (200m and 400m).
In 2002 Bolt broke several personal records, having even won the 100m and 200m of the junior championship.
This year was when he started to be noticed internationally after winning the world youth championship.
In 2004, at the age of 17, it was when Bolt became a professional athlete.
This year Bolt broke the record of 20 seconds in the 200 m making 19.93 seconds and had his first presence in the Olympic Games of Athena. Due to an injury to the Bolt tendon he failed to pass the elminatories.
In 2005 Bolt despite continuing to win titles he started to have several injuries frequently.
The years 2005 and 2006 were years in which Bolt, despite improving his personal marks, had to undergo several treatments to improve his injuries.
In 2007 he returned to 100% competition having won 2 silver medals at the Worlds (200m and 400m).
In 2008 Bolt participated in the Beijing Olympics where he won 3 gold medals (100m, 200m and 4x100m).
In addition to the Bolt medals, he broke the world record for the 100m race ended with 9.69 seconds and the 200m for 19.30 seconds.
After winning the three medals, Bolt donated $15,000 to the children of Sichuan.
It was in 2009 when the "rivalry" between Bolt and Tyson Gay began after the American said in an interview that he was able to beat Bolt's 100m world record.
The two met in the final of the 100m berlin World Championship where Bolt won with a time of 9.58 seconds.
In this world championship Bolt also won the 20m and 4x100m.

In 2010, Bolt after winning two victories on the international circuit decided to try to break the world record in the 300m.
This attempt cost him dearly because, in addition to not having succeeded, he contracted an Achilles tendon injury.
After a month of treatment, he returned to compete beating Asfa Powel at the Meeting Arena in Paris but lost to Tyson Gay in the 100m of the Diamond League in Stockholm.
In 2011 Bolt at the Daggu World Championship failed to win any medals in the 100m due to being disqualified after a false start.
However he would end up winning the gold medal in the 200m and 4x100m making him win a total of 5 gold medals in world championships.
In 2012, the media began to doubt whether Usain Bolt would still be able to conquer any medal in the London Olympic Games since he only landed in 2nd place in Jamaica in the 100m and 200m.
Bolton responded in the best possible way having won 3 gold medals in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m with the times of 9.63 seconds, 19.32 seconds and 36.84 seconds.
At the end of the 100m race Richard Thompson, Bolt's opponent, said the following:
There was no doubt that Bolt was the best sprinter of all time.
Bolt at the end of the World Cup said the following:
I am a legend today. I am also the greatest athlete alive.
In the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016, there were many doubts about Bolt's physical condition due to a muscle injury he suffered in Jamaica's qualifiers.
Once again Bolt returned to answer in the best possible way, winning the 3 gold medals in the 100m, 200m and 4x10m with the times of 9.81 seconds, 19.78 seconds and 37.27 seconds.
Despite not being able to beat any of his records, he made history by becoming the first consecutive Olympic champion in all three disciplines.
Bolt's last race was at the 2017 World Championship where he only won a bronze medal.
In ten years, this is the first time that Bolt has not won the gold medal in the 100m at the Olympics or world championships.
In total Bolt won 29 gold medals between Olympics and World.
