Di Maria leads PSG to the Champions League finals!
With 1 goal and 2 assists, it is fair to think of Di Maria as the best player of the match, even better than Neymar who also had a great match but was only able to create 1 beautiful assist. Mbappe was good but didn't create goals nor assists.
PSG completely dominated Leipzig from the beginning, in the 13-minute mark, Marquinhos who also scored in the previous match against Atalante, scored a good header. PSG's superiority wasn't as overwhelming as Bayern's over Barca or Inter over Shakhtar but there was clearly no competition between these 2 teams. And Icardi didn't even participate in the match!
Keylor Navas wasn't able to play due to some injury but PSG's didn't notice his absence. Leipzig had some opportunities to score a goal but never as dangerous as PSG's attacks. This is the first Champions League final for PSG in their history! Traditionally, they never were a big team but after being purchased by oil money from Qatar they started to invest in big players, and now here they are, in the most important football match when it comes to clubs.
Neymar, Mbappe, and Di Maria are 3 incredibly fast players so I don't see Bayern Munich doing the high pressure they applied to Barca. With those 3 on PSG's side, any counter-attack can be deadly. I hope Bayern can win tomorrow because the match between these 2 teams is going to be very exciting!
On one side there will be Neymar, Mbappe, and Di Maria, as well as other top players such as Marquinhos and Silva. And on the other side, we will (hopefully) have the German Machine that scored 7 goals against Chelsea in 2 matches and 8 goals against Barcelona in 1 match. With Lewandowski having the best season of his life and a new generation of players such as Gnabry, Goretzka, and Davies.
This will also be a battle between 2 different club models. One is a state club with infinite oil money (PSG), and the other is a traditional football club with a great history and a lot of success (Bayern Munich). As of right now, I think Bayern has more chances of winning the hypothetical finale, but if PSG's superstars have a good day they are able to destroy any team. I will be looking forward to tomorrow's match between Bayern and Lyon to see which will be the other finalist. I think most people want to see Bayern in the finale, including me of course.
