I had my eyes mainly on the match between Real Madrid and Villarreal because those 2 are great teams and Madrid was one of the candidates to win the league. However, I was also aware of any event in the match between Atletico Madrid and Valladolid because Atletico was the favorite to win the league and Valladolid was trying to remain in the first division and avoid descending to the second division.
Atletico Madrid only needed to tie its match to win the league, and they could even lose the match because if as long as Real Madrid didn't win its match, they would win the league. For Real Madrid to win the league they needed to both win against Villarreal and hope for Atletico to tie or lose against Valladolid.
Atletico Madrid has been the favorite to win the league since at least December, they had a great first half of the season, and in the second half, their performance dropped for a bit but not enough to lose the first position for too long.
Around the 16 minutes mark in the match between Atletico and Valladolid, the latter scored a great goal after an amazing counterattack that began with an Atletico's corner kick. They took the ball away from Atletico's players and managed to create an awesome play that finished with a beautiful goal in which Oblak was unable to do anything to stop it.
The TV showed the reaction of some Real Madrid's players, they were obviously happy about this goal because now they had the chance to win the league if they managed to win the match against Villarreal. However, this happiness didn't last much because soon enough, around the 19-minute mark, Villarreal scored an amazing goal which began with a failed clearance from Militao when trying to stop the previous attacking play from Villarreal. The match was very even although Real Madrid did have more possessions and attacking plays, but with considerably less effectiveness compared to Villarreal.
I believe both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid began their respective matches with a lot of nervousness. Knowing they could win the league but also lost it if they screwed their performance. I don't believe it was a coincidence to see the 2 best teams of the league, losing at the same time exactly while the tournament is about to finish. I believe they were both feeling a lot of pressure and this affected their performance at the beginning.
After Villarreal's goal, Real Madrid was more insecure and this allowed Villarreal to create a handful of new attacking plays that could have ended in goals. Unluckily for them, they missed them all. There was still a lot of time for Madrid players to score goals so they didn't show too many frustration signs.
Just like in the first half, in the second half there was 1 goal in each match almost at the same time. First, it was Benzema with a great header but since the first moment, I suspected he was offside. VAR took a couple of minutes to check it and it indeed was an offside goal. This was surely an emotional blow for Real Madrid's players.
Then, in the match between Atletico Madrid and Valladolid, Correa made an incredible individual play just outside the penalty box, and with a weird shot, he managed to score what was a super important goal for his team. So we went from a 1-1 tie between Real Madrid and Villarreal, then back to 0-1, and then 1-1 between Atletico Madrid and Valladolid. Things were getting intense in these 2 matches and this is one of the best LaLiga finales I have ever seen.
At the 66 minute mark, Suarez receives a ball from a Valladolid player who mistakenly leaves Suarez alone in front of the goalkeeper and he easily scores what was the most important goal of the day because this confirmed Atletico Madrid as the new LaLiga champions! It is hard to understand why this player did such a good pass to Suarez when they are from different teams but this isn't the first time I see this type of horrible mistake in a match.
With this victory, Atletico Madrid assured itself the title no matter what Real Madrid did in its match. Atletico only needed to protect this 1 goal advantage and they would be the champions.
In the other match, Real Madrid was having trouble scoring goals which is now normal because this happens pretty much every match and will continue to happen until they hire a new superstar top scorer. However, there is something that has always characterized this team, and it is that they never surrender and they always fight until the last second. They needed Atletico Madrid to not win their match but regardless of that result, they still did everything to defeat Villarreal. At the 87 minute mark, Benzema scored a great goal after a good move and pass from Rodrygo. Benzema's shot was perfect and Rodrygo's move previous to the goal is another example of how electric and fast that player can be.
The match was about to end but Real Madrid kept trying. There was an amazing counterattack wasted by Mariano for doing a very silly pass. That was probably his last touch as a Madrid player and I feel sad for him because he almost never plays and today when he receives an opportunity he wasted it in a horrible way.
It was around the 92-minute mark when Benzema appeared from the left side of the penalty box, he makes a normal pass to Modric, who then controls the ball and scores a decent goal. Madrid was able to score the 2 goals they needed to win in the last minutes of the match but since Atletico Madrid also won their own match then Atletico is the champion. I like when leagues have this type of intense ending when everything can change even in the last second. In comparison, it is boring when leagues are already decided and there are still matches to play because these final matches lose almost all of their interest.
The 2 goals scored by Real Madrid made things harder for Villarreal to qualify for European competitions next season. They finished in position #7 in the league, which doesn't allow them any participation in the Champions League nor in the Europa League. However, they will be playing the Europa League final of this season next Wednesday against Manchester United so if they win this match they will be able to play the Champions League next season. Although to be honest, I think Manchester United will win that final.
LaLiga then finished with Atletico Madrid in a well-deserved top position, with Real Madrid in a very near second place and then Barcelona in third place. These 3 are the best teams in the country and they almost always finish in the top 3 positions, with Atletico usually taking position #3 but as we can see, sometimes they are the best.
The top goal scorer was Messi as usual, this isn't a surprise because Messi is the player with the most top goal scorer trophies in the history of the competition. I believe Messi was also the best player of the tournament but since his team finished in the third position maybe the individual trophy for the best player is delivered to another player. Atletico Madrid, besides being the best team in the tournament they also had the best defense and the best goalkeeper, Oblak.
I said they had the best defense simply because they were the teams that received the fewest goals. They only received 25 goals, the second-best defense was Real Madrid with 28 received goals. When it comes to the best goalkeeper, there is an individual trophy called Zamora which is based on some statistics calculated throughout the season. They take into consideration all the goalkeepers that have played at least 28 league matches and at least 60 minutes in each of them. They then take the numbers of goals received in those matches and divided them into the numbers of matches they played. The one with the smallest ratio is the winner.
Since Oblak arrived at Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2014, he has won 5 of the seven Zamora trophies which is a historic record because no goalkeeper has managed to win 6 of these trophies so far. Besides Oblak, the other 2 goalkeepers with 5 Zamora trophies are Victor Valdes and Antoni Ramallets.
It is fair to say Oblak is one of the best goalkeepers in the history of the competition and given the fact he is still very young at just 28 years of age, he has all the chances in the world to become the first goalkeeper with more than 5 Zamora trophies. If in the last 7 years he has won 5 of these trophies, I think he will surely continue to win many more in the years to come. Of course, having a good defense is also important to prevent the rival team from scoring goals so these Zamora trophies are as much recognition for the goalkeeper as they are for the defense as well.
Atletico Madrid proved to be the most consistent team throughout the season and the championship was well-deserved. Now, I plan to watch the Europa League final next Wednesday, then the Champions League final next Saturday, and then in June-July we will have both Copa America and the European Championship simultaneously.

Sin embargo, también estuve al tanto de cualquier hecho en el partido entre Atlético de Madrid y Valladolid porque el Atlético era el favorito para ganar la Liga y el Valladolid intentaba mantenerse en Primera y evitar descender a Segunda.

El partido estuvo muy igualado, aunque el Real Madrid sí tuvo más posesiones y jugadas de ataque, pero con bastante menos efectividad que el Villarreal.
Creo que tanto el Atlético de Madrid como el Real Madrid empezaron sus respectivos partidos con mucho nerviosismo. Sabiendo que podían ganar la liga pero también perderla si arruinaban su desempeño. No creo que haya sido una coincidencia ver a los 2 mejores equipos de la liga, perdiendo al mismo tiempo exactamente mientras el torneo estaba por terminar. Creo que ambos sentían mucha presión y esto afectó su desempeño al principio.
Tras el gol del Villarreal, el Real Madrid estaba más inseguro y eso le permitió al Villarreal crear un puñado de nuevas jugadas de ataque que podrían haber terminado en goles. Desafortunadamente para ellos, loas fallaron todas. Aún quedaba mucho tiempo para que los jugadores del Madrid marcaran goles, por lo que no mostraban demasiados signos de frustración.
Al igual que en el primer tiempo, en el segundo tiempo hubo 1 gol en cada partido casi al mismo tiempo. Primero fue Benzema con un gran cabezazo pero desde el primer momento sospeché que estaba en fuera de juego. El VAR tardó un par de minutos en comprobarlo y efectivamente fue un gol en fuera de juego. Seguramente fue un golpe emocional para los jugadores del Real Madrid.
Luego, en el partido entre el Atlético de Madrid y el Valladolid, Correa realizó una increíble jugada individual justo fuera del área de penalti, y con un disparo extraño logró marcar lo que fue un gol súper importante para su equipo. Así pasamos de un empate 1-1 entre Real Madrid y Villarreal, luego volvimos a 0-1, y luego 1-1 entre Atlético de Madrid y Valladolid. Las cosas se estaban poniendo intensas en estos 2 partidos y este es uno de los mejores finales de LaLiga que he visto en mi vida.
En el minuto 66, Suárez recibe un balón de un jugador del Valladolid que por error deja a Suárez solo frente al portero y marca con facilidad el que fue el gol más importante de la jornada ¡porque esto confirmó al Atlético de Madrid como el nuevo campeón de LaLiga! Es difícil entender por qué este jugador hizo un pase tan bueno a Suárez cuando son de diferentes equipos, pero esta no es la primera vez que veo este tipo de error horrible en un partido.
Con esta victoria, el Atlético de Madrid se aseguró el título sin importar lo que hiciera el Real Madrid en su partido. El Atlético solo necesitaba proteger esta ventaja de 1 gol y sería el campeón.
En el otro partido, el Real Madrid tenía problemas para marcar goles, lo que ahora es normal porque esto sucede prácticamente en todos los partidos y seguirá sucediendo hasta que contraten a un nuevo goleador top superestrella. Sin embargo, hay algo que siempre ha caracterizado a este equipo, y es que nunca se rinden y siempre luchan hasta el último segundo. Necesitaban que el Atlético de Madrid no ganara su partido pero, independientemente de ese resultado, hicieron todo lo posible para derrotar al Villarreal. En el minuto 87, Benzema marcó un golazo tras una buena jugada y pase de Rodrygo. El disparo de Benzema fue perfecto y la jugada de Rodrygo previa al gol es otro ejemplo de lo eléctrico y rápido que puede ser ese jugador.
El partido estaba a punto de acabar pero el Real Madrid seguía intentándolo. Hubo un contraataque asombroso desperdiciado por Mariano por hacer un pase muy tonto. Ese fue probablemente su último toque como jugador del Madrid y me da pena porque casi nunca juega y hoy cuando recibe una oportunidad la desperdicia de una manera horrible.
Fue hacia el minuto 92 cuando Benzema apareció por el lado izquierdo del área de penalti, le hace un pase normal a Modric, quien luego controla el balón y marca un gol decente. El Madrid pudo anotar los 2 goles que necesitaban para ganar en los últimos minutos del partido, pero como el Atlético de Madrid también ganó su propio partido, el Atlético es el campeón. Me gusta cuando las ligas tienen este tipo de final intenso cuando todo puede cambiar incluso en el último segundo. En comparación, es aburrido cuando las ligas ya están decididas y aún quedan partidos por jugar porque estos partidos finales pierden casi todo su interés.
Los 2 goles marcados por el Real Madrid dificultaron las cosas para que el Villarreal se clasificara para las competiciones europeas de la próxima temporada. Terminaron en la posición #7 de la liga, lo que no les permite ninguna participación en la Champions ni en la Europa League. Sin embargo, jugarán la final de la Europa League de esta temporada el próximo miércoles contra el Manchester United, por lo que si ganan este partido podrán jugar la Liga de Campeones la próxima temporada. Aunque para ser honesto, creo que el Manchester United ganará esa final.
LaLiga terminó con el Atlético de Madrid en una merecida primera posición, con el Real Madrid en un segundo lugar muy cerca y luego con el Barcelona en el tercer lugar. Estos 3 son los mejores equipos del país y casi siempre terminan en las 3 primeras posiciones, siendo el Atlético el que suele ocupar la 3ª posición pero, como podemos ver, a veces son los mejores.
El máximo goleador fue Messi como de costumbre, esto no es una sorpresa porque Messi es el jugador con más trofeos de máximo goleador en la historia de la competición. Creo que Messi también fue el mejor jugador del torneo pero como su equipo terminó en la tercera posición quizás el trofeo individual al mejor jugador se le entregue a otro jugador. El Atlético de Madrid, además de ser el mejor equipo del torneo, también tuvo la mejor defensa y el mejor portero, Oblak.
Dije que tenían la mejor defensa simplemente porque eran los equipos que recibieron la menor cantidad de goles. Solo recibieron 25 goles, la segunda mejor defensa fue el Real Madrid con 28 goles recibidos. Si en los últimos 7 años ha ganado 5 de estos trofeos, creo que seguramente seguirá ganando muchos más en los próximos años. Por supuesto, tener una buena defensa también es importante para evitar que el equipo rival marque goles por lo que estos trofeos de Zamora son tanto un reconocimiento para el portero como para la defensa.
El Atlético de Madrid demostró ser el equipo más consistente de toda la temporada y el campeonato fue bien merecido. Ahora, planeo ver la final de la Europa League el próximo miércoles, luego la final de la Liga de Campeones el próximo sábado, y luego en junio-julio tendremos la Copa América y la Eurocopa simultáneamente.

Siempre es bueno ver que algún otro equipo gane la Liga española, no sólo Barca y Madrid. Pará mí Atlético debió definir la liga desde mucho antes, teniendo en cuenta la plantilla que tiene.
A nivel de plantilla la verdad que no lo considero muy superior a Madrid y Barca. Creo que sencillamente aprovecharon el bajonazo de los 2 grandes y lograron el título. Este nivel actual del Madrid y Barca no es normal, está por debajo de lo que se espera de ellos. Crep que el año siguiente veremos a un Madrid reconstruido y quizás con un nuevo delantero estrella (Mbappe o Haaland). Con respecto al Barca, seguro que habrá cambios pero no creo que puedan hacer un gran fichaje este año. El Atletico seguirá igual.
Bueno yo considero que este año el atlético tenía mejor plantilla que el barsa y Madrid, ambos tienen jugadores envejecidos y jóvenes que no dan la talla, y claro que atlético es un equipo más construido y con una idea clara de juego.
Sí, en edad están mejor al ser más jovenes en promedio. Dependen de Suarez que si está un poco mayor pero mientras siga rindiendo así no tienen problemas. Madrid y Barca deben cambiar de ciclo urgentemente.
