Will Messi leave Barcelona this summer?

Today's biggest news in European football is that Messi decided to leave Barcelona for free! Apparently, it is stipulated in his contract that he can leave the team without paying anything at the end of the season, but Barcelona claims the period that allows him to do this ended in June, not in August. Messi believes that since the season ended in August this could allow him to use this contract's clause but Barcelona thinks otherwise.

This is the drama of the summer and is a horrible way for this historic player to leave his lifelong team. Barcelona's finances are in very bad shape and they are planning to get rid of a lot of players but Messi was different, they wanted to keep him and build a new team with him as the leader.

Messi must be very frustrated due to his latest results and since Barcelona's current president, Bartomeu, has been a real disaster, Messi wishes to just go play somewhere and leave Barcelona for good. Most Barcelona fans think this would be extremely disappointing while others think this might be good for Barcelona because Messi's salary is super high and this will help with the team's finances.
