Why always Arsenal? 3 Injuries, 1 Red Card, and 2L's in 2 Games.

As a Manchester United fan, I am loving it seeing Arsenal get battered, week in, week out.

When our club was going through a similar phase with bottom-tier managers like Moyes, you could always count on Arsenal to fuck up and give you the catharsis you desperately needed.

Arsenal is the team everybody loves to make fun of.

Against Manchester City in the first game back, the team sustained two important injuries to Xhaka and Pablo Mari which forced the manager, Mikel Arteta, to bring on the goof that is David Luiz.

David Luiz proceeded to have a defending mare, assisting Sterling for the first goal and conceding a penalty after pulling Mahrez down in the box. He completed the goof hat-trick by getting sent off immediately after the foul.

Three days later, Mikel Arteta seemed to have learned from his mistakes in the game against City, bringing on an incredibly strong forward line of Aubameyang, Lacazette, and Pepe against relegation fodder, Brighton.

Ozil had also been dragged away from his daily Fortnite scrims to freeze his ass on the bench after numerous uncomfortable questions to the Arsenal manager of the player's whereabouts.

The game started lethargically with both teams barely testing each other's defenses. It wasn't until after half-time when Pepe made himself a yard on the edge of the 18 and curled a left-footed strike past a flailing Matt Ryan.

As expected, that was the kick up the arse the Brighton players needed to ignite their survival instincts.

Seven minutes later Brighton fumbled the ball over the line to draw the game level.

1-1.

Totally deserved. Arsenal had full-on packed the bus when they were a goal up. Considering how shitty they are at defending, I don't know who figured that was the way to go.

It wasn't until injury time than the one and only Maupay broke through the defense and chipped the oncoming goalkeeper Martinez to give Brighton the lead.

Maupay had been involved in a collision with Arsenal goalkeeper, Leno, late in the first half. The goalkeeper had jumped to catch the ball at the edge of his box when Maupay came in and nudged him causing Leno to land awkwardly on his right leg.

The deafening screams from Leno could be heard over the fake Fifa 20 crowd noises as he held his right leg. It appeared to be an ACL injury caused by a hyperextended knee.

If that is the case, Arsenal will be without the goalkeeper for more than 6-8 months which is effectively a massive portion of the next season as well.

You therefore could forgive the Arsenal players who at the full-time whistle jumped the Brighton striker, Maupay.

You honestly couldn't have written the banter any better than this.

Matteo Guendozi might also pick up a 3 match ban in the coming days after cameras caught him grabbing Maupay's throat in a vengeful grip which would see him miss games against Southampton, Sheffield in the FA cup and Norwich.

The future of Arsenal is looking incredibly bleak.

They have no funds for transfers, Aubameyang and Ozil are winding down their contracts and look set to leave this season or as free agents in a year. Lacazette seems just about done with the instability as well.

European football is also probably out of reach which will see the financial situation suffer even more. That will see them fail to attract any world-class talent to the club cementing their current downward spiral.

How will Arsenal make it back to the top?

#liftthecurse ..... In 10 years or so!
