After 14 years in Tamil Nadu, Syed Mustaq Ali became the trophy champion. Earlier, Tamil Nadu won the Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy for the first time after defeating Punjab in the inaugural season of 2006-07.
And for the second time this year, Baroda lost by 8 wickets in the final and became the T20 champion. With this, Tamil Nadu has played Syed Mustaq Ali's final 3 times at most. Last time they also participated in the title fight, but they lost the champion for only 1 run.
