Super League announced the suspension of the tournament
The clubs that announced the creation of the Super League have decided to modify the project. This is stated in a statement of the organization, which was published on Twitter.
The statement said that the current system of European soccer does not work. The Super League believes that the project, if implemented, will solve both the financial problems of the participating clubs and the soccer club as a whole, affected by the pandemic.
Earlier on the withdrawal from the Super League announced ALL six English clubs-participants. Representatives of the tournament believe that they were forced to do so in the face of outside pressure.
On April 19, twelve European soccer clubs announced the creation of the Super League. Arsenal, Barcelona, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Atletico, Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Juventus, Inter and Milan were among the founders.
UEFA president Alexander Ceferin said the association would not allow players from the Super League to qualify for World and European championships.
