Only 60 football players have 140 or more matches for their national team in their career. Only 30 players have 150 or more matches for the national team. Real record holders have over 170 international caps, and there are only 12 footballers who made that. The number one, however, is the Malaysian footballer Soh Chin Ann, who played in 222 matches from 1969 to 1984. Will this record ever be broken? Among the players with the highest number of international matches there are those who are yet to finish their careers - Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos and Andrés Guardado. However, they are more than 40 matches away from the best result.
