Jota: I feel like I moved to Liverpool during the winter period

Liverpool striker Diogo Jota, returning from a knee injury, has said he wants to help the defending champions regain confidence during the remainder of the season in the Premier League after the team went through a difficult period.

Jota made a quick imprint after joining from Wolverhampton Wanderers in September, scoring nine goals in 17 games before hitting a knee in a Champions League match against Mittelland on December 9th.

The 24-year-old came on as a substitute in the second half of Thursday's 1-0 loss to Chelsea and said he was determined to help the seventh-placed team for the remainder of the season.

In response to a question about what he could offer the team, Jota told the Liverpool website, "Some confidence and enthusiasm because the team has been struggling lately. I feel like I moved to the team in the winter period."

He added, "I want the team to rely on me and believe in my ability to help it in the future .. Of course the absence for this period was harsh and it was difficult to return 100 percent quickly. But I participated in the last match for 35 minutes and I felt in good shape."

Liverpool, who host Fulham on Sunday, has suffered from injuries and has fallen into disrepair this season, losing five times in a row at Anfield in the league after playing 68 games without losing.

"Even last season, everyone was talking about Anfield as a fortress ... the fans played a big role in this matter and we miss their presence," Guetta added.

"But we want to regain this feeling and prevent the opponents from winning at home. This is not happening now, but we have another opportunity on Sunday to change this situation," he concluded.
