I think it would be a poisoned 'gift' to allow Jones to get a fight for the title against Ngannou.
Besides the fairness of giving this shot (or lack of), you mentioned something very true, climbing a weight category is never easy. And fighting Ngannou at that level of sharpness for a first heavyweight fight... good luck.
I believe in a Ngannou-Miocic 3 and a Jones-AnyoneElse first.
