The red devils begin the New Year with yet another hard earned victory as they defeated a sturdy and resilient Villa side, extending their unbeaten run of games in the EPL to 10 games.

Although the game was keenly contested by both teams, it was United who took the lead in the 41st minute when Anthony Martial headed home a sublime Aaron Wan-Bissaka cross, ensuring the red devils took the lead at half time. The second half began with the same keenly contested situation as the first, and in the 58th minhte, Villa were back on level when Bertrand Traore converted a set piece from Jack Grealish. However, United who were not ready to be denied a chance to be joint league league leaders with Liverpool, restored their 1 goal advantage with a quick fire response in the 61st minutes as in form Bruno Fernandez converted a spot kick won by Paul Pogba.
United made sure to keep the scoreline this way till the end of the game, frustrating every effort Villa made to come back on level terms, and ensuring all 3 points remained at the Theatre of Dreams.

I bet Ole knew his side would find it difficult getting a win over an impressive Villa side, and we all saw how he approached this game with the formation he used(4-1-2-1-2). It is no mere saying that this man is beginning to get the best out of his players. A big kudos to him.

This win automatically makes United joint table leaders with Liverpool having played equal number of games, but the red devils will have to remain behind Liverpool due to inferior goal difference.

It is really amazing seeing Manchester United produce amazing displays that were replica to the ones we saw during the time of Sir Alex Ferguson. If this tempo is kept, we might be having a new EPL champion in them. This must really be a great moment for the team, technical crew, board, and fans.

The only downside to this game was Ubited's leaking defence yet again. They again failed to string 2 consecutive cleansheets ever since they started this amazing run of 10 matches unbeaten run. This might bring a lot a great setback if not well taken care of, as having a superior goal difference is also of great importance if you have an eye for the EPL title.

Feel free to drop your opinions and comments, they will be greatly appreciated.

They sure are man, don't forget their city rivals as well.

I beleive these 2 have been outstanding so far, but the difference between them is United always conceding goals. This is what Pep have being able to manage.

Well, as a Chelsea fan, I hope they(City) fall to us. I expect a great game though.
