Two games a-piece has already concluded for all teams in the world cup. In fact, we're more than half-way to the total number of games to be played in the world cup. The last game of the group stages per teams are underway.

Only Portugal, France, and Brazil have managed to secure the knockout stage ticket after just playing two games with the three teams bagging the full 6pts after 2 matches. That being said, I'd be giving you the summary of what happened to every group after Match day 2 has concluded.

  • Group A

TeamWinDrawLostPts
Netherlands1104 pts
Ecuador1104 pts
Senegal1013 pts
Qatar0020 pts

An comfortable win for the Netherlands against Senegal, who just lost their key player Sadio Mane due to injury. Ecuador also silenced the current host Qatar, 2-0 thanks to the heroics of Valencia. The Dutch and Equadorians also settle for the draw in their encounter. Senegal came out as winner as they managed to past Qatar.

  • Group B

TeamWinDrawLostPts
England1104 pts
Iran1013 pts
USA0202 pts
Wales0111 pt

England started the campaign with a 6-2 demolition against Iran. Thanks to the heroics of Bellingham, Sterling, and Bukayo Saka. Meanwhile, USA and Wales settled for a draw after a late penalty conversion of their star Gareth Bale. Iran bounced back with a win against Wales (2-0), this was shortly after Wayne Hennessey's red card. The term football & soccer was not also settled after England and USA settled for a draw.

  • Group B

TeamWinDrawLostPts
Poland1104 pts
Argentina1013 pts
Saudi Arabia1013 pts
Mexico0111 pt

The Arabians pulled off one of the most upsets in the World Cup history after a 2nd-half onslaught against Argentina, 2-1. Everyone knows Argentina is on a hunt for the glory, having 36-games unbeaten. Poland and Mexico also settled for a goalless draw.

Messi magic shone against Mexico scoring a wonderful long-range shot. Ochoa couldn't get a touch of the ball, making Argentina lead by 1-0 then Fernandez' strike that made it 2-0 in favor of Argentina. Lewandowski and the Polish also managed to beat Saudi Arabia 2-0.

  • Group D

TeamWinDrawLostPts
France2006 pts
Australia1013 pts
Denmark0111 pts
Tunisia0111 pt

France is assured for the knockout stage after defeating both Australia & Denmark in their first 2 fixtures. Australia pulled of a win against Tunisia too that makes them sit comfortably in 2nd spot. Denmark and Tunisia also settled to a goalless draw.

Denmark has to win against Australia with a bigger margin than Tunisia (if they win against France). Australia also needs to win against Denmark to avoid complication.

  • Group E

TeamWinDrawLostPts
Spain1104 pts
Japan1013 pts
Costa Rica1013 pts
Germany0111 pt

One of the most exciting group because each one can qualify. Spain only needs a draw against Japan while Germany has to win the match against Costa Rica. Japan and Costa Rica can advance and leave the big fishes out if they manage to win their last match.

Germany is in a serious position. They have win for them to qualify and its not currently assured. They need Spain to outperform Japan or if they settle for a draw, Germany needs to put more goals.

  • Group F

TeamWinDrawLostPts
Croatia1104 pts
Morocco1104 pts
Belgium1013 pts
Canada0020 pts

Morocco pulled another upset after defeating the European supergiant Belgium in their 2nd match day. Canada is now officially out for the next round.

Morocco is expected to win against Canada, a much easier rout compared to Croatia. Basically, if Morocco wins against Canada, either Croatia or Belgium will be out. Croatia needs just a draw to qualify and Belgium needs to win their last match to secure qualification.

  • Group G

TeamWinDrawLostPts
Brazil2006 pts
Switzerland1013 pts
Cameroon0111 pt
Serbia0111 pt

Brazil's dominance in the group proved to be they deserved to be the top 1 team in the world according to the recent Men's ranking. Their 2-0 win against Serbia, thanks to Richarlison's brace. Oh and that was a great bicycle kick and the best goal so far alongside Messi's long range goal.

The lone goal of Casemiro against Switzerland decides the game. I thought it was a draw but the Red's defensive midfielder showed his class. Cameroon made an astonishing comeback against Serbia in a match worth entertaining to watch because six goals in total were made (3-3).

  • Group H

TeamWinDrawLostPts
Portugal2006 pts
Ghana1013 pts
South Korea0111 pts
Uruguay0111 pt

Ronaldo-led team, Portugal showed pure class for today. They beat Ghana 3-2, where Cristiano Ronaldo was the Man of the Match. Ghana meanwhile came back with an emphatic and entertaining win against South Korea 3-2, with Heung-min Son seen crying after the defeat. South Korea was able to hold on to Uruguay 0-0, a match that rejoiced South Korean fans.

Bruno Fernandez' brace was more than enough to beat a tough Uruguayan side. Bruno's penalty and uncontested crossed were the winning goals of the match. With 6 points after 2 matches, Portugal now have a direct qualification for the knockout stages.

Which group entertains you the most? For me, I am looking an eye close on Group E and C. What about yours?

Still so much to play for in the final groups as some of the big teams have just not turned up and deserve to go home early.

Denmark is the first big fish victim. What a stunner from Australia. When the match started at around 10 mins, I felt that Australia has been very patient in their chance and they did.

Well done on the mention in the showcase, which is what brought me here. Plenty of surprise results in group stages, but apart from Germany the teams that have progressed to Quarters are as I predicted.

That's great to know! I though Morocco are out in the group stage but look at them now. In the quarter-finals! If they can beat Portugal the world will be crazy.
