El boxeo sigue decayendo || Boxing continues to decline

English versión

It is a fact that boxing is already a dying sport in decline, we see it agonizing in front of our eyes, but many do not seem to realize that what was boxing is almost nothing left, but only remnants that help to not die once and for all.

I have already said on more than one occasion that boxing is not my favorite sport, however I used to like it a lot when I was a kid, at least that's what I thought, since my dad was really passionate about it and he used to invite me to watch boxing fights with him.

The fights that I remember I remember with real nostalgia. As I remember them, they were real battles, I remember that they were epic combats.

Maybe I didn't have the privilege of seeing the great boxing legends, since I'm barely in my 20's, but surely the people of this tribe who are in their 40's will have been able to enjoy memorable boxing battles.

In the part of the world where I live, I saw many Latino boxers fight, many of them characterized by grit, heart, courage and bravery.

I remember watching the first editions of the saga between Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marques, without a doubt they were authentic battles worthy of a documentary on Netflix.

I remember fights of the eccentric boxer like Ricardo Mayorga, who fought against the cream of the world boxing, I remember seeing him win a world championship against what was considered the best pound for pound of the moment, like Vernom Forrest, and knock him out.
For some reason I watched a lot of Mayorga's fights, maybe because of that eccentric style, although I didn't agree with what he was doing.

So each of us can recall great boxing battles we have seen, but now I ask a question, which boxing fight have you seen recently that you consider to be epic?

Boxing today

I don't know how to judge the following, I don't know whether to judge the histrionic ability of the two by the pantomime they put on or the brutal marketing work involved in putting on and selling a "show" like that.

Watching a YouTuber, actor, singer I think, and I don't know how many other things, make a pretense of a fight against perhaps the most well known boxer of the last decades, is really tasteless.

Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul is a total aberration and it is totally outrageous to sully the legacy of the athletes who have made boxing one of the most successful sports in the world.

Mayweather is undoubtedly a boxer who has been worth his weight in gold, you may like his style or not, but with that he has managed to win several world championships, have won and exhibited every fighter he has faced, the fact of having amassed a fortune of millions of dollars and Logan Paul has millions of views on his YouTube channel.

It's not a fight that makes a lot of sense or that makes at least an ounce of sense, but it is a very lucrative fight for both of them and for all the people around both of them. Money that very nickname of Mayweather's is the only meaning of this fight.

I don't mean to imply that it's wrong for both or those who can to make money with this kind of nonsense, but that so much morbid curiosity is generated by seeing Logan Paul, who has done nothing for sports, against Floyd is a sign of the trash culture in which we are moving, that is what is truly outrageous.

Outraged would be boxing legends who really worked hard, trained, made sacrifices, pushed their bodies to the limit and put their lives on the line in a ring, to see the antics between these two, outraged would be the boxing legends who must be angry from their graves.

Boxing is in its final stage and soon we will have to say goodbye to it.

I agree and not a fan of this nonsense. This was all about money as current fighters would not be allowed to box him. I see he is now calling out Canello and if Paul knew how it worked he wouldn't even ask. This cannot happen as you have challengers and no 1 contenders who have the right to fight before any youtuber. If Canello fought this fool and killed him it would be disastrous for the sport.

Absolutely right, even if all this was a show, they did not know how to give it, they were left to owe.
The truth is that it is a danger that a person without any experience in contact sports goes up to fight someone who has spent his whole life training.

I understand this silly fight might be hard to enjoy for hardcore fans of boxing. I have never been a fan of this sport, although I remember watching one of the fights between Mayweather and Pacquiao some years ago. Personally, when it comes to fighting I prefer the UFC.

I didn't watch this fight with the Youtuber but I did search for some of the highlights to see what was the buzz all about. This is just made for pure entertainment purposes and that's it, not to be taken seriously.

Even when it comes to entertainment, you have to know how to give.
Well, these two did nothing.
I think almost all of us agree with what you say if it is about watching fights martial arts have gained a lot of ground and fans.

I don't think I have ever really liked boxing, or even wrestling generally.
I don't enough seeing people right and hit the hell of each other for whatsoever reason.
I can't help but imagine what he is in for

Boxing seems to lack characters these days, with the exception of maybe Tyson Fury who can come out with absolutely anything 🤣🤣

That's what I think, maybe the best representative is Canelo Alvarez, but boxing lacks stars.
