Excited! Tonight is our biggest game in the run of friendlies as we swiftly approach our opening game of the season and first 3 points on the 14th of August when we destroy Man. United at Old Trafford.
However, we still have two friendlies left to play and tonight's game is the eagerly awaited match against Dutch Champions Ajax of Amsterdam. Late night and five quid time to watch this live at 1.30am here but let's not get ahead of myself.
Last night, poor old Genk lost 1-2 to Shakhtar Donetsk and gave themselves a mountain to climb in the the second leg. Surely someone must have hit the jackpot with that score? Full details at the end...
And so to today's game and you have a choice to make. Choose Leeds for the win and aim for the double Jackpot or choose the draw and Ajax and hope Leeds lose. Choose carefully!
Not a difficult prediction. Leeds will win easily!
Another chance tonight to get rid of any ring rustiness in what could turn into an epic clash between these two giants of European football.
Will our Captain 'calamighty' Cooper be making an appearance tonight? We haven't seen him yet during pre-season with no word on whether he is injured or moving on?
It will be a second chance to get Junior Firpo settled into our playing style and hopefully make a few forays forward. He looked good against Real Betis with bags of potential and hopefully, before the new season kicks off will be up to Bielsa fitness levels.
There are worries about our fragile Spanish international defender, Kock after he limped of during the last game as did Strujik after a heavy challenge. There was no love lost in the Real Betis game!
The other interesting question will be the role of Rodrigo and whether he will be competing with Bamford for the no9 role or if he will stay at No10, we didn't sign another centre forward and I think Bamford needs some competition for the role.
There will no doubt be some jiggling with the formation during the game and will be fascinating to watch.
Whatever the team or formation, Leeds have this in the bag...
Prediction: Ajax 1 : 4 Leeds - First goal scorer: Harrison
Simply write the name of the FIRST GOALSCORER and the CORRECT SCORE as a comment. The competition closes 5 minutes before kick-off which is 19.15 BST. (18.15 UTC)
The Small Print
In the first goal scorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition will roll over if there is no winner. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. The bonus will be added to any winnings ONLY if Leeds United win and/or Man U lose and all pay-outs will never exceed 50% of post pay-out. Other bonuses are paid out at my discretion.
And the Winners Were...
So, Genk 1 : 2 Shakhtar Donetsk and the first goal scorer was Paul Onuachu of Genk. And looking down the list of entries I see just @abimbola753 (of the legitimate entries) get the correct score. Well done mate, the whole 5k Jackpot is on its way to you!
No one got the first goal scorer yet again so the pot rises again, if you win tonight and get it doubled, it's going to be a huge jackpot!
