Leeds United News w/e 8th May

Another crap week full whilst we play the waiting game for the powers that be to decide the outcome or continuation of the season. It looks increasingly likely that the 1st and 2nd Divisions will end up cancelling their seasons but with the Germans and Turks about to continue theirs, is this a good omen or bad?

A lot of it is down to the Premier League agreeing to play out their fixture list at neutral venues and them getting a majority vote for this plan to go ahead, however, the relegation fodder are not too pleased so whatever the decision, there will be winners and losers but let's be fair, Norwich were going to be relegated anyway and then any other 2 from 5 plus a couple of others weren't safe so on balance, they shouldn't be complaining too much. Whatever happens, the season should have been over by now and Leeds crowned Champions so it needs sorting sooner rather than later!

Happy Birthday, Big Jack!!!

Jack Charlton, Leeds legend and World cup winner was 85 today. Jack made his debut for Leeds in the old second division in 1952 and went on to make 772 appearances for Leeds and on the way, picking up the footballer of the year award in 1967. He played his last game for Leeds in April 1973, 21 years since his first. Let's hope he lives long enough to see us get back to the Premiership!

Have a read of his recent interview at leedsunited.com where I borrowed the photo from.

Coming up from Division 1 with Snoddy

Oh, those dark days. Yes, even darker than the recent days when we dropped into Division 1 for a couple of seasons dues to going into administration and having huge point deductions and it was 10 years to the day since we managed to overturn a 1-0 scoreline at Bristol City and with 10 men managed to win by 2-1 and thus sneaking back up into the Championship.
One of our heroes from that time was current West Ham midfielder Robert Snodgrass who posted this on Instagram...

Our manager at the time, Simon Grayson replied.....

Pity his English skills aren't as good as his Skill in getting us out of Division1!

We still have a soft spothere at Leeds for Snoddy, topclass player.

Finally, a quick clip of God trying to pronounce 'Ipswich'....we love him :-)

Bielsa struggling to pronounce Ipswich. “I give up." 😂 #LUFC pic.twitter.com/Qa8HBr22cc

That's it really. All we can do is wait for the good news and at least we can get back to running our daily prediction competition using some of the European leagues soon and get back to giving loads of tokens away!

Until then, best wishes to everyone and stay safe and sane at home.

Marching On Together
