Merseyside Derby
Hi All,
Merseyside Derby is a fixture that divides a city apart. Goodison park is literally ONLY 1 mile away from Anfield.
For local scourers like Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard, this game means a lot to them because they are born and raised in Liverpool and spent most of their lives at Liverpool, starting young at #LFC academy. Liverpool is their life!
Gerrard: Why derby games mean so much "It's the fixture that I look for at the beginning of the season, I love playing against Everton. I've got friends and family members who are big Blues and it's all about the bragging rights in the city." Steven Gerrard on Liverpool website.
Last time Everton beat Liverpool at Goodison Park in the Premier League was in October 17, 2010
Everton have not won a Merseyside Derby in 22 attempts, 11 defeats and 10 draws in all competitions.
Merseyside Derby is so important to Everton and Liverpool fans alike, Marco Silva (ex-Evertonian manager) was sacked soon after a 5–2 defeat to Liverpool. That was the final straw that broke the camels back.
What a game that was! #1 mistake don't set up your team to attack Liverpool, the REDs counter attack was lethal.
Match highlight, enjoy! Liverpool 5 - Everton 2
Which goal in this 7 goal thriller is your favorite?
Liverpool only need 2 more wins to secure their first title in 30 years. The REDs could of secured the title at Goodison Park if we beat the Toffees, but that bitter sweetness ended when Manchester City defeated Aresenal earlier this week. We just have to wait for now.
Liverpool fans reach out and touch the Premier League trophy! 😀
Line up and formation Prediction
Through out the this season we were blessed with very few injuries. Klopp does't change much with starting XI and formation. The only change Kloop might do is to start with Orgi over Bobby. As Origi loves to score aganist Everton. Divok scored 5 times aganist the Toffees in all competitions, equaling Dirk Kuyt and Luis Suarez's tallies in Merseyside derbies. Origi's record over Everton
When Carlo Ancelotti took over Marco Silva, Everton were sitting in the bottom three. Ancelotti played a significant part in changing the fortunes of the Toffees. Since December, Liverpool is the ONLY club that have earned more points than their city rivals. The Toffees won 5, drew 3 and lost 3 games since the appoitment of the Italian coach.
My Final Verdict
This Merseyside Derby will be very diffrent from the reverse fixture at Anfield in December. The Toffees will be very tight at the back and be3 well discipline. Since the Champions League final win over AC Milan in 2005, Ancelotti's teams preformed VERY well when they play Liverpool. Ancelotti teams played Liverpool 12 time, and won 7.
Liverpool would be too strong for Everton as they are chasing the long awaited title and thats the ONLY motivation they need. Origi will yet again score a Derby goal to give us our victory.
My score perdiction: Everton 0 - Liverpool 1

My Final Verdict
1-0 to Liverpool seems a good shout. I think they’ll win but it’ll be tight. No 5-2 thriller this time :-)
I got that 5-2 thriller on repeat, our counter attack was on point. Both goals by Origi was sublime!
My prediction for the match is that it will be over 2.5 goals for sure. Everton are playing well at Goddison Park and most of the matches between those two clubs are draws. Hopefully Salah will have a good day and it will score early in the match. 1:3 for Liverpool! Ynwa :)
I hope your right I love another classic Merseyside Derby, full throttle attacking football. Lets hope this game doesn't disappoint.
Just under 1 hour to go.
#LFC line up - Minamino start ahead of Salah
what do you guys think of #LFC lineup?
Everton lineup...
@talesfrmthecrypt and @lyubo19 what do you think of the first half?
I only watched the last 15mins but it seems as expected, a pretty tight match, Liverpool dominating possession but lacking that killer pass from midfield to really open Everton up. I think Liverpool will try and inject a bit more pace and direct play into the early stages of the 2nd half
I agree with you 💯 Liverpool are lacking the sharpness in the final 3rd. Hopefully Salah is fit enough to play some part in the 2nd half. Maybe we need Origi to break the deadlock. Let’s hope the 2nd half would be better.

.Bottoms up! I guess we have to wait a little longer till we lift the Premier League trophy 🏆
For first match after this long pause it was normal.. Everton played well. The last 7 matches in Guddison we have only 1 win and 6 (SIX) draws, so .. I hope that Crystal Palace will be destroyed 🔥
Yeah your right playing at Goodison Park is always tight. Everton were defending so deep...
Onto Crystal Palace, can't wait for that game :)
Liverpool lacked that killer instinct in the final 3rd. Everton were well discipline in defence. The toffees had the best chances to nick a victory, great saves from Allison and the woodwork.
Liverpool had a few injuries to deal with; Milner, Matip and Minamino 😟
