Training Resumes

Annnnnnnd we're back! It's been a pretty hard two week period and it has definitely impacted the lil ones engagement which was seen amongst the other kids at training this week. I think moral was down abit and the kids struggled to remain focused and recall previous training sessions. This was also identified with the club by the coaches this week as they had informed us due to the snap lock down measures the kids were slightly disengaged across all their teams.

But we're excited to be back and picking up where we left off. Training will also resume through the school holiday period this year to make up for the training sessions missed and the gala night and end of season game will be pushed back.

Lil miss got her club colours and was able to finally able to wear them to training and she was super excited to hit the field representing her club.

Most the kids were in attendance but a few families chose to remain home due to current cases increasing amongst our community. The morning huddle included a quick game plan for the day as the coaches were focusing on putting the skills over the past few weeks to good use with a mini match 4 on 4 set up.

Prior to the practice round the kiddos were provided with a ball each and instructed to dribble the ball up and down the field and take a shot at the goals. This is to familiarise the kids with the field and what the objective is minus the residence from an opposing side.

Rules still applied with the kids needing to keep the ball within the field and not kick outside boundaries.

After a quick dribble practice with goal kicking it was time to practice tackling and the kids were assigned with a fruit. Lil Miss was an orange and the coaches would call out two fruits who would need to run into the centre of the field battling it out for the ball and then need to kick a goal in their allocated goals.

It was then onto penalty shots and how to block a goal, this was quite cute to watch as the kids all decided to completely block the goals to oppose any balls entering the goals.

They then took turns while another player attempted to kick a goal and they would block it.

From there it was time to put the days learning into practice and a game of 4 on 4 took place with the selection of two teams.

Unfortunately for little miss she wasn't really into it and decided to walk off field and sit out. I tried to provide her with comfort and then one of her friends also walked off field creating an imbalance of 4 on 2. Coaches tried getting little miss back on the field but she was done for the day.

As a parent I was totally shattered I wanted to see my little girl own the field but today just wasn't her day and I totally respect that.

I felt some relief after the game with a coaching debrief where they informed us that it was quite common especially with the break in training due to COVID restrictions.

I'm looking forward to the gala event and match against the other girls team.

Let's hope that no more COVID restrictions come into place and we continue to maintain training. I can't wait to share with you all the gala match!

Due to CONVID, many things are restricted. Kids cannot go outside to play that they used to do before. When there are no more CONVID restrictions, things will get back to normal. Looking forward to reading your next post, @melbourneswest.

Hahah... This is a fun read.
It's interesting to see how things work in your part of the world. So, she is already undergoing a professional training at that age -interesting

You are also a very passionate Dad.
It's good to see you giving her your full support. Well Done

CoVid has affected almost all including kids as their schooling has been hampered.

Kids like to play outdoors however toys and other things we provide for them to play inside the house.

Good to see the young ones getting to play and enjoy the sports they like the most.
Nice one :)

Nice that you guys getting the lockdown lifted up.
here in India, we have been forced to go thru lockdown till 21st of this month and it's understandable that, the cases needs to be under control.

Due to the lockdown since April 27th, the active case percentage has gone down considerably and that's something positive for us.

Thank you @melbourneswest, the stats show the active cases are getting reduced on daily basis, but there is always a fear of those getting on rise again if the Government unlocks again!!

Thanks for the prayers, have a Wonderful Monday and a good week ahead :)
