Neymar's record with the Brazilian national team

Good afternoon all. Neymar has officially surpassed Ronaldo Nazario's record after scoring a hat-trick against Peru in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. The Brazilian national team visited Estadio Nacional, the home of the Peruvian national team, in the 2022 World Cup qualifying match in the CONMEBOL Zone. In that match, Brazil managed to silence the hosts. Peru with a score of 4-2. Neymar became a star in the match after scoring a hat-trick against Peru. Two of Neymar's goals were scored with 12 fitting kicks, in the 28th and 83rd minutes respectively.

With this hat-trick against Peru, Neymar has officially surpassed the record for Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazario. So far, the Paris Saint-Germain star has scored 64 goals in 103 games for the Brazilian national team. Meanwhile, Ronaldo only scored 62 goals in 98 matches during his 17 years defending the Samba Team.

Now, Neymar is only 13 goals adrift of the top scorer in the history of the Brazilian national team, Pele. Pele has scored 77 goals for the Brazilian national team during his career in world football. The legendary former Brazilian goalkeeper, Claudio Taffarel, admits that he believes Neymar can become even greater. In fact, Taffarel supported Neymar to bring the Brazilian national team back to dominate the World Cup as it used to be.
