Good morning everyone. Tottenham Hotspur eliminated city rivals Chelsea from the last 16 of the League Cup on penalties, located 5-4 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London. Tottenham fell behind first due to Timo Werner's first Chelsea goal, but Erik Lamela equalized seven minutes from time to force the winner to be decided on penalties.

Mason Mount became Chelsea's fifth executioner and his shot grazed the post, ensuring Tottenham's move to the quarter-finals. Tottenham are still waiting for their opponent in the quarter-finals which will be drawn on Thursday local time.

Mendy deserves to be in the spotlight in the high-fives round. He failed to read the direction of the ball shot by all the Spurs executors, namely Eric Dier, Lamela, Emile Hojbjerg, Lucas Moura, and Harry Kane. Tottenham's four consecutive shots were aimed at Mendy's right, but he went to the left instead. Kane, who was the last runner for the Spurs, shot to Mendy's left but the goalkeeper moved in the opposite direction.
