My FPL Team, Results and Thoughts for Game Week 30!

Game Week 30 came to an end in the EPL last night as Westham United tortured Wolves with early goals. I had my players for the Game Week 30th picked some weeks ago even before the international break. It was quite a week, after watching so many disappointing performances by many countries in the world cup qualifies, I personally thought having the EPL back would bring back some relief and hopes in our beautiful expectations not knowing it would be a disastrous welcome back!

The whole shock of the weekend started by having Chelsea defeated at Stamford Bridge by West brom. The match was totally out of expectations and that really affected the whole mindsets towards the whole EPL fixtures and expectations for the past weekend.

With the same strong trust I've been having, I used Martinez as my goalkeeper for Game Week 30th, having him faced my alternative goalkeeper (Areola) of Fulham gave me the assurance that he could secure more points that Areola even though they would be playing against each other. They both featured in the match last weekend and none was able to secure a clean sheet due to the fact that both teams played heavy attacks towards scoring but then, Martinez was still able to earn much more than Areola for he made more saves than Areola. Martinez earned 4 points in total due the saves he had in the match while Areola earned just 2 points for featuring for 90 minutes.

I trusted my defense line too much last weekend, I hoped and thought they would be able to secure me with at least 15 points considering the flexibility of their fixtures but it happened that my thoughts went wrong as none of them was able to secure a clean sheet nor contribute to a goal. Shaw and Dallas earned two points each while Creswell earned just a point!

Only my midfield and midfielders gave me some expected results ranging from my captain Bruno Fernandes who was able to secure an assist that led to Rashford having a beautiful goal against Brighton. Rashford earned 6 points for scoring and playing more than 70 mins and them he also earned two bonus points based on personal performance on the pitch. Mane and Raphinha, they both also contributed to the success of their teams over the weekend by scoring and assisting. I've had Mane for sometime now and he's yet to actually earn me more points as it's quite known that he's having his bad times this season. On the other hand, Raphinha is still quite new in my squad and he has appeared to be very much impressive and promising, I am just still observing who I could let go of to bring in Jesse Lingard of Westham who is currently on a dreadful form.

The results from my attacks having Calvert - Lewin, Watkins, and Bamford was quite disappointing for I expected the whole three strikers to be able to contribute to at least a goal in their various matches considering the fact that they weren't player tougher teams but then, they teams either won or drew, none of the attacker's team lost during the weekend but they weren't not just that lucky with the net but Watkins once had the ball at the back of the net for Aston Villa over the weekend which earned him 7 points, and myself as a manager getting to earn just 11 points from my trusted attackers.

I still felt the greatest mistake I made this weekend in my FPL squad was playing my bench boost chip. Seeing my first player from bench (James) of Chelsea with such a defeat from West brom really broke my heart but I'm still happy he didn't get me a minus point by picking up a card during the match of defeat for Chelsea. Perhaps, Chelsea could correct their mistakes in the UCL tomorrow!

Only Neto got me impressed a bit by assisting a goal even though his team lost to Westham at home. Areola and Van Aanholt were just there to keep my bench busy as they couldn't do much but to feature in the matches. No hope lost yet, my FPL can still get pretty before the season ends!
