T. Silva's conduct led Chelsea to doom at Stamford Bridge.

Since Tuchel's arrival at Chelsea, I've not really seen much problems in his line up but yesterday's was just not needed from my perspective, he has to much defenders involved in the match and considering the visiting side (West Brom) the line up wasn't just good enough, I felt it should have been more of attackers and benching Mason Mount at the absence of Kante was another red flag move for me.

Chelsea played formation - 3-4-3 but them featured 5 defenders (Azpilicueta, Silva, Zouma, James and Alonso, even though James and Alonso kept to the flank, it wasn't not a good mover for a team like Chelsea against Chelsea and the greatest mistake I saw in the lineup was benching Mount who's currently the only creative midfielder Chelsea has. Chelsea's fighter (Kante) is currently lost to injury and pairing Jorginho and Kovacic would definitely cause the problem of not having a standing 4 as Jorginho isn't strong enough to hold the position like Kante would and Kovacic is just as good as moving ball to make the opponents commit fouls.

Starting Werner, Pulisic, and Ziyech upfront wasn't even a problem for even though it wasn't that good due to the fact that there isn't a standing No. 9 amidst the three of them, it would have been better if Giroud featured somehow in the front line. Having two flexible players on both wings, Ziyech and Pulisic and a runner as a No. 9 only suggests that there should or must be a physical play maker behind them which is Mount. Kia Havertz could have been a cool starter in the match too but then it all went wrong anyway but why? With 5 defenders, or perhaps 4 defenders, Chelsea still conceded 5 goals why?

The only answer I perceive to this is and was that Tuchel's side appeared yesterday as a low side team who came to contain pressure from a higher and better team and that eventually cost them than they could ever expected. I'm sure Tuchel would have learnt his lessons now and would take the few chances left for his side to keep themselves in the top 4 race for this season.

Tuchel's side is currently in 4 position on the league table and are just 2 points above Liverpool, Westham, and Tottenham but then, they are 5 points behind the 3rd position (Leicester City) which is quite a dicey position for them to be at the moment with just 8 matches left to round up the league for the season. It's still a big hope for Chelsea at the moment but then, let's watch and see what and how Tuchel's side would choose to surprise us!
