THE DUTIES OF A COACH
A coach is a leader, he is a person who leads team of players. A leader is a person who guides and directs a players to achieve their goals. A coach controls and directs the players.
If you must ask me what are the reasons a player needs a coach? A coach helps a player discover possibilities where he can't, and they can stay focused on the goal while as a player you stay focused on preparing and executing to meet your goal. They act as the lighthouse which is on point and secure and gives a beacon to direct a player when he lose focus.
Most people think that to be a coach is an easy thing, generally being a leader is not an easy thing. Some players most times speak all manner of grievous, painful, blasphemous and embarrassing against their coach, because they have the thought of, if it where me I would have done better.
As a coach you are required to advise players and athletes against dangerous practices in a particular sport and the potential for injury or even death. The warning should be in writing and players should be asked to provide written note of their agreement.
The coach is to ensure the players are completely covered by injury insurance in case of any, and as well as make adequate provisions for good transportation system to carry players from one competition to the other. Having said a lot, for me, the best coaches are the ones who will lead an enthusiastic, excelling, professional growing team by his own personal example. What is your take on this?
