First Win For Wolves Since 1980.

Some things just don't change where Manchester United is concerned. Ever since the change in system to 4-2-2-2, there has been a bit of a decline in Manchester United's fortune as they have been shaky with their game and against Wolves, they were found out as they missed a chance to go within 1 point of 4th place Arsenal with a game in hand.

João Moutinho gave Wolves the only goal and the win after a lovely shot just outside the box. His last goal also came against Manchester United and he seems to fancy his chances against Manchester United every time he comes up against them.

With Ronaldo captaining the side on the day, he couldn't do anything to help his side as Wolves got their first win against Manchester United for the first time since 1980 at Old Trafford. United has been terrible this season and they haven't even scored with a set-piece this season neither has Wolves also conceded with a set-piece this season. It's back to the drawing board for United as they got their first defeat since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked.

Podence almost gave Wolves the lead in the 12th minute after he attempted a shot hoping to beat De Gea at his near post. Ruben Neves also had a volley shot not too long after but De Gea managed to get a hand to it to prevent Manchester United from going behind so early. Podence made another attempt at goal at the near post yet again but it turned out to be a routine save for De Gea.

Despite Wolves asking most of the questions, United also had a moment of theirs when Cavani opted to shoot just outside the box rather than fine Greenwood to his right. It proved to be a costly one as his shot flew over the bar much to the frustration of Greenwood in the 42nd minute.

Bruno Fernandes came on to replace Mason Greenwood and he would have gotten the goal United desperately sought for in the 67th minute after he was wonderfully picked out inside the box but with the net at his mercy, Fernandes' attempt inside the box despite beating the goalkeeper was saved by the crossbar. The only real clear cut chance that fell to United wasn't converted by their Portuguese midfielder.

It wasn't long after, United thought they finally got their goal after Ronaldo powered home a wonderful header so close to the net after being picked out by a Bruno Fernandes freekick but the celebration was cut short as Ronaldo was correctly flagged for offside.

A minute after, it looked like United increased their tempo and Ronaldo was sent racing in goal in the 69th minute only for him to drag his shot wide from such a tight angle.

In the 75th minute, De Gea was clearly beaten for pace after Saiss' freekick rattled the crossbar instead but they finally got the reward their effort deserved in the 82nd minute after Traore's cross into the box was headed clear by Phil Jones. The ball graciously fell to Joao Moutinho who beautifully controlled the ball after being afforded too much space and he smashed home his low drive effort into the bottom left corner of the net to give Wolves the lead.

United couldn't get a response to being behind and with the last kick of the game in the 95th minute, Bruno Fernandes stepped up to take the freekick just outside the box but Jose Sa dived well to his right to deny the Portuguese as Wolves held on to the famous win. Wolverhampton Wanderers played with more purpose and finally got what they deserved with Manchester United back to the form that saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sacked.

Thank you for your time.

Since 1980, I laughed.
Manchester United is rubbish, 4-2-2-2 is more rubbish.
At this point, they don't even affect me.

I've given up on them already. This team is a joke. They have lost that aura.

A whole United. We always miss the chance to go ahead. We would have overtaken Arsenal had we not been playing nonsense.

great win for Wolves, at least they finally broke a record and get three points.
manchester should raise De Gea's salary, s he seems the one keeping Manchester alive.

That's so true.. De Gea has been the one keeping Manchester United in it...it could have been worse.
