Ukraine Left It Late.
Another wonderful game and another extra time win for Ukraine as Spain also did against Croatia. Sweden would feel so unlucky after striking the post twice and the lively Forsberg would be wishing for what could have been.
Sweden battled hard and Ukraine played to perfection and managed to hurt Sweden where it mattered the most - at a time where they cannot respond and all attention has been fixed on the spot kicks. The red card didn't help the course of the Swedish side as well.
In the 10th minute, Mykola Shaparenko burst forward but wasted his chance with a wayward shot. Shortly after, Yarmolenko had a decent strike right inside the box that the goalkeeper pushed away to safety. Sweden also had a chance of their own when Dejan Kulusevski gave the ball to Isak, whose attempt at finding the bottom corner was missed by a margin.
Ukraine got their goal in the 27th minute when Zinchenko smashed home his effort. Yarmolenko flashed the ball across the face of the goal and the ball somehow found Zinchenko who wasted no time than to smash home the shot despite Larsson's touch as it went into the back of the net.
Desperate to make up for his part in the goal, Larsson played a smart freekick as he attempted to caught the goalkeeper off guard but the goalkeeper pushed it for a corner kick. Sweden got their goal in the 43rd minute with another smashing effort and this time around from Forsberg. Isak found him and he smashed home his shot even with the help of a deflection too.
Sweden had another chance with Larsson but his strike was marginally off target and shortly after, Serhiy Sydorchuk struck the post for Ukraine after he was found inside the box and his lovely effort cannon off the post. A minute after, Sweden also struck the post as Forsberg received a pass from Isak and his curling effort struck the post too.
Both teams were piling up the pressure as they tried to find the winning goal and in the 69th minute, Forsberg struck the post again after he managed to cut in and despite leaving the goalkeeper rooted to the spot, his attempt came off the crossbar. Kulusevski could have won it for Sweden in the 89th minute but while trying to sort out his leg, he was blocked off.
The 90 minute ended and the extra time came. In the 9th minute of the extra time, the Swedish were reduced to 10 men after Danielson clearly won the ball but his follow through was a leg breaking attempt on Besedin. Sweden tried to see the game out with 10 men so they can focus on the penalties.
Ruslan Malinovskiy's side footed shot went wide in the 27th minute before the real heartbreak came for the Swedish as a brilliant delivery into the box found Dovbyk and he wasted no time in heading the ball home just in time - 30th minute of the extra time. Ukraine saw the game out and established a Quarter Finals tie with England.
It would be another unpredictable and exciting game with these two.

Honestly Shevchenko men really deserve the winning. The match was full of suspense as lot of shot hit post. I believe it was the red card the Sweden had that killed the match.

Andriy Shevchenko and his team as really done well so far in the tournament depsite starting a little bit slow,but one of their greatest came last night and they did well by edging out the swedish national team who as been very proflic from group stage and special thanks to Dovbyk stoppage time goal in the extra time and now their attention will be focus to Rome where they will play against England
They showed resilience and character and I must say they did so well.
It was a good game from both sides, only Ukraine knew how to play Sweden better and be able to win and qualify for the quarterfinals.
They did their part and got the result, no doubt.
They got the award for their effort as they would say.
