• Both managers could use the 3-5-2 at times but the clear preference was for the 3-4-3. And for touchel from deeper region , rudiger has so far been Chelsea main ball carrier when needed, driving into the midfield down the left hand side in order to unbalanc the oppositions midfield , this is contrast to Cahill for conte who tended to remain deeper when Luiz remained deeper, conte also look to take advantage of his passing range combine with the outstanding movement of Diego Costa who like to play on the shoulder of opposite defense and try to get into the space 🚀 created. Tuchel, Werner who who loves to run in behind has primarily played wide on the left so can tend to start slightly deeper , and the extensive use if false 9 means there is lass opportunity to play long passes in behind . Tuchel on the other hand as discussed is more possessive oriented and reflects in his midfield . For Conte, Hazard if any could drop deeper off the left to pick up the ball when the ball double pivots were struggling, but still, he would operate much higher than Mount who is a genuine midfielder. Perhaps this midfield shape is why kante has to push forward in support a lot more if the fullback when there is no man in the half space.
