The Difference between Conte and Tuchel 3-4-3 tactics

Good evening community it your boy optimistic again an spotting the difference between Antonio Conte And Thomas Touchel 3-4-3 Tactics. Please do ensure to vote me and also drop comment below Happy reading.

  • Antonio conte. Thomas tuchel two outstanding Managers in their own right who have a lot in common besides berating their plyers for 90 minutes . Both have managed Chelsea and both have had great success with the club, with Antonio conte winning the premier league in 16/17 and the FA cup in 17/18 whilst Tuchel , on the other hand, hasn't even been in charge for a year has won the champions league and reached the FA cup final , but perhaps the most interesting similarity is how much success the both managers had with a back three, in a league which for the most part doesn't use the formation much . But using one formation doesn't mean the teams did everything the same, So what exactly are the difference between Conte's and Tuchel's back three .

  • Both managers could use the 3-5-2 at times but the clear preference was for the 3-4-3. And not many have carried on from Conte's first eleven into Thomas tuchel , the main men being azpilecuta still at right centreback and Kanye in the midfield. In his second season conte , also used rudiger extensively at the left centre back , I will begin with the build up play, and just a quick note if I say one side used one pattern more , it doesn't mean the other didn't, just that there was less focus on that . Both sides wing backs pushed higher up the pitch, but meaning the centre back saw a lot of the ball but we see difference In the use of the centre backs. For conte the central back David Luiz was the main man at least in possession so could see him at times drive with the ball into the midfield when Chelsea needed more numbers in this region. And for touchel from deeper region , rudiger has so far been Chelsea main ball carrier when needed, driving into the midfield down the left hand side in order to unbalanc the oppositions midfield , this is contrast to Cahill for conte who tended to remain deeper when Luiz remained deeper, conte also look to take advantage of his passing range combine with the outstanding movement of Diego Costa who like to play on the shoulder of opposite defense and try to get into the space 🚀 created. Tuchel, Werner who who loves to run in behind has primarily played wide on the left so can tend to start slightly deeper , and the extensive use if false 9 means there is lass opportunity to play long passes in behind . This is also the case as due to heavy schedule most teams tuchel has played haven't been pressing high and leaving space in behind.

  • Both managers have use azpilecuta as a progressive option, with the Spaniard often moving into the midfield especially when the team were higher up . And midfield also had some interesting differences Conte midfield in Kante and Matic was much more conservative when it come to going forward and utilising the ball mainly acting as a solid defensive platform, to allow the talents higher up to focus on attacking . And one thing to note is that when frabegas was in the first eleven, much like Luiz, he was also much more willing to go long to find Costa running in behind . Tuchel on the other hand as discussed is more possessive oriented and reflects in his midfield . Before the injuries struck, koväsic was actually the first choice man along side with jorginho, and both duo are masters of retaining the ball in tight spaces and running the game as a duo managers uses I Kante have also been very different. During the Conte era, Kante was still primarily seen as a defensive midfielder, more if a destroyer so he tended to the less adventurous of the two whilst it was Matic down the left who had more room to advance into down the left, helping create and overload which could free hazard to move around the pitch. Under Tuchel that has changed with Kante expressing is more offensive side . This is facilitated by jorginho, who is much happier in deep region . So we have seen a lot more of Kante picking the ball up and using his speed and dribbling ability to get past compact midfield and drag the whole team forwards. We seen him attack spaces vacated in the wide regions when a fullback us drawn to the wingback. This is often possible because Mount, can move deeper to cover him when necessary and the front three is perhaps where we see the most differences. The obvious first is the centre forward, with Diego Costa being very much a traditional centre forward with the strength and physically to compete with the centre backs whist also showing the desire to run behind. Tuchel hasn't really had a defined centre forward, with various names getting a turn but seemly settling in Havertz by the end if the season . So where Conte front three were much more likely to stick to their positions on papers, Tuchel constitently rotated . And as discussed, Tuchel us more possession oriented , so mount could drop to be the third midfielder to an attacking midfielder, whilst the rest shifted to a front two. But Havertz, Pulusic, and Ziyech are also comfortable In the midfield areas so both would drop deep with Werner pushing Hugh. So where they have had just a double pivot, this would quickly balance three or a four, allowing them to maintain the ball in central regions. For Conte, Hazard if any could drop deeper off the left to pick up the ball when the ball double pivots were struggling, but still, he would operate much higher than Mount who is a genuine midfielder. Pedro on the other hand was content Down the right as was less likely to shift positions. Perhaps this midfield shape is why kante has to push forward in support a lot more if the fullback when there is no man in the half space. But perhaps having so many men who want to come to the ball rather than run in behind like Conte'y has partly led to a more functional attack for Tuchel with Conte's team averaging 2.5 goals per game compare to Tuchel

DEFENCE(Tuchel)

Conte

  • Both teams have been hugely successful but us always interesting to see the subtle tactical difference present even in Teans that use the same formation. But what do you make of these two teams?

These are two awesome coaches they have really proven so over time. Why the current Italy coach Antonio Conte seem to operate in a more attacking formation the German coach professional Coach Thomas tuchel seems conservative or would less functional in attack. comparing these two stays at the London Club Chelsea FC, I believe the latter approach has been looking quite good which can also be improved.

It would be unfair to pick who is the better coach between these two has the Italian seem to be more experienced and i would rather appreciate them for what they bring to the sports.
